My regular Ray racing boots were cold and leaking slightly, so I was recommended these by a member of Sportsbikes staff. The good is they are warm; even with ordinary socks my feet are pretty cosy even sub zero. Make sure to order the next size up though. I take 44s and the 45s were a snug fit. They're resonably comfortable to walk in and got broken in, in about 2 hours wearing. Compared to my other boots I find them very cumbersome, and don't feel the foot controls as well as before as the leather is very thick. Good for protection. I'm sure if I ever am unlucky enough to come off these will be the toughest bit of kit I'll be wearing. I find the shin guard is a bit OTT and makes it harder to get a waterproof trouser leg over it and zipped up. There is a slight draught of cold air that I've noticed around the top of the zip, but whether this would let water in I can't say. I have had snow and very damp roads but no heavy rain yet in 10 hours (approx 400 miles) of use. I noticed today that the right boot is squeaking when walking. Something has punctured the sole and like trainers the sole gets a bit of water in and squeaks. Annoying but only when walking about. Overall they're boots, most likely waterproof, but a bit work man like, no wow factor.
Mark Pearce - LondonGreat boots but sizes are small
These are a great pair of boots - comfy from the off and with lots of protection. Walking in them is very possible, with no annoying squeaks. My only negative comment is that the sizes are pretty small. Suggest you buy a size up from your normal shoe size.
