With the GP-5X, Arai combines the appreciated looks of the Arai GP-5 car helmet, with the design of a true motorcycle helmet. The roots of car helmet design can be seen in the special visor mechanism. Instead of the usual smooth holders, efficient looking aluminium fasteners are used, just as in F1. Also the visor is typical for car sports with its 3mm thickness. Even the posts for the HANS (head and neck restraint system) are present on the GP-5X!
Aside from the F1 looks, the new GP-5X is in all respects a true Arai motorcycle helmet, with the comfort and fit that may be expected from Arai. Penetration resistant, extra strong thanks to the two IC-2 ducts at the front and two Delta exhaust ducts in the rear of the helmet.
