Aerodynamically superior, the XR-1000 full-face sport helmet delivers wind tunnel proven high speed performance and ventilation. A perfect fit is achieved through removable and adjustable cheek pads and 3D comfort liner system which doesn't shift during high speed riding.
Another facet of the legendary Shoei fit is the use of 3 shell sizes, and 4 sizes of EPS liners. The XR-1000 shell is of Shoei's proprietary AIM + (Advanced Integrated Matrix Plus Multi-fiber Technology), which embeds ultra strong organic fibers into fiberglass.The result is a lightweight, yet strong, outer shell that is better able to absorb and disperse the force of an impact.

Near perrfect for me, 29 Jul 2009
This is my first helmet and i only ride a 125, but I splashed out on the Shoei brand. I can't really compare it to anything else, but it's the only one I tried on out of most other brands that fit my head perfectly without any movement. It's light with good visiblity for the rider, and it's white so hopefully mroe visible to other motorists too. I've found it to be very quiet compared to the few helmets I tried on during my training and CBT and much, much more comfortable.

Quiet, well ventilated, perfect and firm fit, lets you wear glasses if you want to, good idea is to buy a progressively shaded visor, great system of taking on and off the visor for cleaning, visors are very robust and flexible, very comfortable DD lock of the chin stripe. I do not know, if it is perfect, but it seems the best from all I have seen so far. It is quiet aerodynamically not by blocking your ears like it is with the competition.

It's light, very light, it's comfortable, snug, it's easy to put on with ear plugs in ears. Wind noise is still noticeable. Plenty of vents; the upper front two provide two jets to upper forehead, good round town but have to be closed over 80. Need anti-fog on colder days. Quality not as good as earlier helmets but perhaps weight saving is more important. Same visor mechanism though which worked well for years on previous Shoei.
