Our final drive kits all contain a Renthal hardened steel front sprocket, hard anodised aluminium alloy rear sprocket and either a Tsubaki Alpha X ring chain or where power demands it, a Sigma X ring chain. Renthal's hard anodised sprockets feature all the benefits of regular sprockets but have increased resistance to wear.
Hard anodising is an integral surface coating, which significantly increases the hardness and wear resistance of the sprocket surface. Hard anodising is performed under stringent conditions and involves passing an electrical current through the sprocket whilst submerged in a dilute solution of sulphuric acid at 0°.
Traditionally chains have been made with an O shaped seal in between the plates, newer X ring type chains have a X shaped seal, this can prolonged the life and efficiency of the rollers as it does not allow as much lubricant to escape and keeps more dirt out!
