A good deterrent - pricey but would recommend, 12 Nov 2009
Initially I purchased another Abus disc lock that had a much higher ABUS security rating but unfortunately it did not fit the disc on my bike. So, I went for the disc lock that Abus had tested on my bike to be sure it would fit. The security rating is half that of the best locks but it has an alarm that I hope will make up for it! The lock has been designed so that the alarm will trigger if the bike moves but not if there is a vibration from wind etc The alarm is loud and would definately atract attention when triggered. The lock itself is tough enough to act as a deterrant against opportunist thieves and with the alarm should put off all but the most determined and well equipped crooks. It is reasonably light and compact and easy to fit, can be attached to the disc with one hand. The fluro cable to remind you it's there is handy, mind you if you forgot the alarm would probably give you a hint that the lock was attached before you rode off! Overall a good lock I am pleased with, the high'ish price is justified by peace of mind that Abus know whhat they're doing and the lock will be effective and hassle free, so far so good.

I was looking for the best, so I bought one of the most expensive, I have to say on receipt of it I was quite disapointed at the quaility of the product. It doesn't look upwards of a £70 product. Unfortunatley that is all I have to go on in judging this security product as there is no way of actually testing it.

Excellent security for your bike. Easy to attach/detach and a quick push when fitted enables the alarm. Comes with a bright 'forgetmenot'esque lead to stop yourself from forgetting to remove it when your getting ready to ride.
