TCX X-Miles Waterproof Boots

TCX-eptional!

I've been a bike owner for 32 years and have to say these are the best boots i've ever slid onto my ageing hoofs. I mostly use them for dry riding but they keep the water out just fine. (The stand in the shower test). They are flexible and for me, perfect with textile trousers...you know you are paying for the leather you use, rather than 6 inches you don't use covering your calf. People have commented on the fact that the velcro has to be completely undone to take the boots on and off...a minor detail. Putting these on is like opening a bottle of fine wine;the plesure is not just the drinking, but the preparation!

Nice boots and great price

Like Martin I had seen the long term review from MCN shown to me by a colleague at work. The site was easy to use, good price, boots arrived 2 days later. Straight out of my Triumph paddock boots with thick socks and straight in to the new boots. A nice comfortable fit. Two weeks later and the boots have seen sun and rain and cool 6.30am starts. Just wearing my office socks there is more room but not so my feet flop around. They always seem to be just at the right temperature, not getting cold or over heating while walking. The construction looks excellent and the grip from the sole is excellent so no worries when putting your feet down when stopping. I was tempted to mark them down a star but decided I was being too fussy. I would have liked the lower Velcro strap to be a little longer so that it does not need re threading each time I put the boots on. I have to open them up fully to get my feet in but not a real issue. The second is the gear shift pad probably needs wearing in. In the wet changing up occasionally the boot slips off the end of the gear shift. Having had several wet rides recently on my relatively new bike I now turn my foot in a bit more so that I know the boot is right under the gear lever and there have been no more problems. They haven't let the water in yet either. So I am very pleased with the purchase and my colleague has marked them as his replacement boots for the future.
