Auto chain oiler
East to fit, lots of free tutorials from Scottoiler and iTunes. Too early to say if it extends chain life but certainly makes life easier.Read more
Easy fit BMW F700GS
Had to order a free vacuum adaptor from Scottoiler as detailed in the bike specific instructions. This was delivered very quick. Installation was simple with next to no dismantling. Setting up the correct flow rate took a little while and I'm still not certain that it's right but this is my first install of one of these and I can certainly see an improvement in how freely the rear wheel spins on the centre stand.Read more
Really easy to fit
In the last few years all of my bikes have been belt driven, so when I recently bought a chain driven bike I imagined that I'd be back to the drudge of routine chain checking and oiling to say nothing of the splattered mess all over my lovely chrome wheel because I always overdo it. A friend recommended the Scottoiler and I've read lots of positive reviews so I ordered one from Sportsbikeshop. It arrived within 24 hours, which in itself is pretty darn good. The kit includes way more stuff than you actually need (but I guess they allow for people making a couple of mistakes) and some very clear instructions. There are bike specific instructions on the web too. It took me about an hour to fit, check and then adjust the drip speed to slightly more than one per minute. Frankly if I can do this, your average 8 year old will find it a breeze! Thus far the oiler seems to be working well and the chain and sprocket look in excellent nicely greased condition. I've hardly noticed any splatter on my back wheel too. Its early days but thus far I'm delighted.Read more
A must have
First of all, as always, Sportsbikeshop service was excellent. Having said that, this is a review of the product, which is also excellent. If you're like me and do a lot of mileage all year round, and you have a chain driven bike, just buy this, now! Honestly can't believe how much time this saves in terms of chain maintenance and the icing on the cake is it increases chain life too. It's easy to install with all of the bike guides on the Scottoiler site, comes with all of the mounts you need, and to top it off you also get 250ml worth of blue oil (the one you want for UK use), which is good for a couple of reservoir top-ups. It's even quietened down the chain noise and now means it only takes me 5 minutes to have the chain and sprocket spick and span during the weekly clean. The oil goes a long way (800-1200 miles per reservoir fill) and you will make that 80 quid back really quickly as you won't be spending it all on chain lube.Read more
Does the job
It's not cheap but I've used one for years and they carry on working. A no-brainer for my new bike. Chains and sprockets need looking after and this is a simple way to do it.Read more
Commuter essential and easy to fit
I commute in all weathers and was sick to death of cleaning and oiling chain every week, so after doing plenty of research opted for one of these. Initially wasn't 100% sure how to fit it to my 2012 650 V-Strom. checked Scottoil website for bike specific fitting instructions and I couldn't find the vacuum pipe to attach into. ( I did email the Scottoil tech but got no reply) but I soon realised that you have to lift the tank, just onto the support bracket is enough, no need to completely remove tank. It is very tight pushing the 'T' piece into the IAP pipe but be patient a little lube helps, you then decide where to put RMV and route the tubing. I didn't fasten the tubing to bike until I was completely happy with the placing etc. Also I didn't push the nib against the sprocket until I'd set the flow rate, as I could drip the oil into the box, it does take a bit of patience and some time and quite a few drips later when I was happy I pushed the nib against sprocket which is very easy to do, been a couple of weeks and 500 miles since fitment and it seems OK, only time will tell. I will of course still be cleaning my chain periodically but at least I now know it will be permanently lubed. brilliant service from SBS as per the norm.Read more

Initial prototypes for the first Scottoiler system appeared over twenty five years ago, when Fraser Scott began to investigate and invest in the potential of his idea for a motorcycle chain oiler. As a life-long motorcyclist, the initial idea came to Fraser when he was commuting from Glasgow to Manchester on a regular basis. Due to the high mileage that Fraser was travelling, he found himself having to continually adjust or change his chain. Eventually, under the name of FM Scottoilers Limited, Fraser first made the Scottoiler available to the public in 1986, finally settling on trading as Scottoiler (Scotland) Limited in 1992. Since then continual improvements and innovations have culminated in today's range of products. The popularity of Scottoiler products globally has created an ever expanding workforce with its HQ based in Milngavie just outside Glasgow. With a strong R&D function continually developing future Scottoiler products the company plans to bring the benefits of their product range to a much wider global community in the future.See all Scottoiler products…

The V System will not fit - the Scottoiler website states as below - Unfortunately we have not found a way of installing a Scottoiler vSystem on this model. Either no vacuum connection is available or accessing the vacuum connection takes professional help and a lot of time. For the moment we can only recommend fitting our electronic operated Scottoiler eSystem instead.
