Smart solution to open face
Need open face helmet that accommodates my spec's, comfy, quiet well built...oozes quality...great service from Sportsbikeshop. Haven't tried it in rain...but I like this lid. Bought the size as per head measurement and the fit is great and just enough room for a balaclava. Thanks SBS.Read more
Great for a modern classic bike
I prefer an open face helmet as I get a better field of vision than a full face one. I particularly like the long visor which prevents wind making your eyes water. I was between medium and large and chose large, it is just a little loose but very comfortable. I have just purchased a Tech Base Balaclava from Sportsbikeshop.co.uk to go underneath and it now fits very snugly. The inside padding does shrink quite a bit, my advice would be to leave all the visor stickers on and just wear it for a bit to make sure the size is right for you. Love wearing it on my new Bonneville1200.Read more
Love this helmet, normally wear full face. This helmet fits well with good vents that work well. Found wind noise at 70mph low. Good all round vision. I take a size medium 58 in full face so went down one size to a 56 small for the open face. Also the sun visor is good. Would buy again when I need a new helmet.Read more
The best open face helmet
I felt like a change from my full face helmet that I mainly used for urban riding anyway. I thought an open face one would be more practical and the J-Cruise fits perfectly and is very comfortable. At first, it felt a bit weird after only wearing a full face helmet previously, but after a day or two it felt fine. It feels extremely well made and the interior padding is much nicer feeling than my old Shark Vision R. The chin strap is also a nice improvement. It is metal and sturdy but is also comfortable and doesn't feel like it chokes you, even with a neck warmer on. Wind noise won't be as good as a Shoei full face but it was still better than my shark full face, despite being open. The visor does fog up a bit but only when you're standing still does it get bad enough to impair visibility. You can get a pinlock insert but for my 5 mile commute it's not necessary. The vents work incredibly well. I would only use those in the summer because you really feel the cooling coming through. My old helmet didn't feel different with vents open or closed. I strongly recommend this if you're considering switching from a full face helmet for commuting.Read more
Great fit, sits on my forehead a little lower than I was use-to but in reality it works well as a slight sun screen. The visor sits lower than other 3/4 helmets I've tried and is brilliant no wind get under and a very positive snap fastening. I don't usually like sun visors as I find them too dark but this one is just right, even when going on country roads with overhanging trees. The strap fastening is a doddle to use. A very light helmet, plenty of room round your ears and very good soundproofing. All in all a first class helmet, I would recommend.Read more

Questions and Answers
Does this helmet comply with either of these safety standards: - British Standard BS 6658:1985 and carry the BSI (British Standards Institution) Kitemark - UNECE Regulation 22.05 - any standard accepted by a member of the European Economic Area which offers a level of safety and protection equivalent to BS 6658:1985 and carry a mark equivalent to the BSI KitemarkMay 25, 2018
Dear , Thank you for your email. I can confirm that all of our range of helmets have achieved ECE 22.05, which is the European helmet safety standard. This makes them road legal for use in the UK and over 40 different countries. The various helmet manufacturer's are no longer bound by law to show accreditation on the outside of the helmet itself, which is why the occasional helmet will show ECE 22.05 on the shell, whilst others may show it on the chin strap.
