Customer Reviews for Shoei NXR - Gloss Black
My best Shoei helmet
I prefer this helmet to my Shoei GT Air. It's lighter in weight and a lot more compact. Same Shoei quality with a great lining. I've used a visor sticker strip as it has no built in sun visor.Read more
Great helmet, great fit and really light
Coming from an Arai Axces 2, I have to say that this is a really light helmet with a great fit! It is a bit tight and the chin curtain doesn't help getting the helmet on and off, but in contrast to the Arai that I had, the tight fit doesn't give any discomfort (for the Arai this faded away after a few weeks). As for quietness, I haven't ever found a helmet that is quiet and earplugs are a must for me when driving faster then 80 km/h (50m/h). Vents work great and no need to use the pinlock yet, that comes with it.Read more
First full face but not the last
This is my first full face, I have had flip front in the past. Good: Very light. Great visibility. Pin Lock. Its a Shoei. Bad: Bit tight to get on and off but nice fit when its on (I do have biggish ears so that does not help) Do not like that the chin part does not travel lower (this is hangover from flip front I guess Other than that, all good, very happy with purchase.Read more
Beats helmets twice the price
Lightest and probably the best lid I own. I have the original Shoei X-Spirit, X-Spirit 2, Arai RX-7V and RX-7 GP and yet this seems so much better. Good visibility, no fatigue because of the weight, fairly quiet, but I wear ear plugs anyway and great quality. What's not to like.Read more
This is the first Shoei helmet I'm not 100% satisfied with. All my helmets are / has been a Medium but in this case I had to go Large, it's snug around chin line and forehead line and above but in between not so snug. A Medium was too uncomfortable getting on and off, I tried a GT Air Medium and couldn't attempt to get it on my head, whats going on Shoei with your helmet sizing. The helmet is very light though.Read more
Helmet fits great
Trouble-free service and delivery. The helmet fits great (as expected), is nice and light and looks awesome! The vents work well. I'm hoping the padding wears in a bit as I wear glasses and want them to stay straight. Delighted with extras - Thank you.Read more
Best of the Shoei range for most people
Unless you particularly want a flip up helmet or a built in, flip down sun visor (in which case you should look at the NeoTec or GT Air models respectively) this is probably the pick of the range. Very light and low wind noise (relatively low wind noise anyway - no moto helmet is going to be as quiet as we'd like). It has all the safety features you'd expect from a top of the line helmet. The light weight and large field of vision, and excellent ventilation make it very comfortable to use for extended rides. One word of caution is that Shoei seem to make their helmets very consistently to a particular shape so if your head likes the fit of Shoei helmets, you'll love this one also. If you're not sure or haven't tried Shoei before, it's best to try one on beforehand - or accept that you might need to post it back to change sizes or brands. On the plus, if your head, is a Shoei fit, this helmet shape seems consistent with any of the Shoei range. The GT Air was also a contender but honestly, how hard is it to put on some sunglasses when you need them?Read more
Love my shiny helmet
Had an old XR1000 previously and loved it, but it got a bit old and decided to go for a HJC RPHA 10+ which was awesomely comfortable and nice and light, but after purchasing the NXR I realised what I'd been missing. This thing is awesome...light, great peripheral vision, amazing ventilation (so much so I was completely comfortable in the recent 34 degree heat, when on the move), extremely easy and integrate my Sena 20s into. The biggest thing I'd noticed though was how easy it is to shoulder check. The cutaways at the bottom of the helmet really aid when twisting my head. All in all I'm a very happy boy!Read more
Light, quiet and comfortable
I replaced my Arai Chaser with this Shoei, simply because it fits better, is lighter, better vision and is quieter. It seem in the past 6 years Shoei have listened and made the interior and the over all helmet a better fit. Shame they have not sorted the top padding as it gives terrible 'hat hair'.Read more
Awesome helmet and quality
Top quality lid. I am a Medium size and this fits as they say it does for a Medium. The finish is second to none and the venting is perfect. It comes with Pinlock and spare tinted race visor. The look is good and the weight perfect as this is ideal for the road or circuit. Pricy but you know you have got a quality helmet with features that you know you only get with a little extra on the price. From a noise perspective it is great, wind and road noise is reduced considerably and this helps with the noise fatigue on a longer journey.Read more

Product VideosShoei NXR Overview
Shoei NXR - Gloss Black3D COMFORT LINERS - 3 dimensional interior pad for increased comfort whilst being worn.
4 SHELL SIZES - Different shell sizes throughout the range mean if you order a small helmet, you get a smaller shell; this reduces stress on the neck and combats fatigue.
ACCESSORIES - Supplied with a type F breath guard and type D chin curtain and clear CWR-1 Pinlock insert in the box.
AIM SHELL - Organic fibre and multi-composite fibres constructed in multiple layers for a shock absorbent shell with optimum rigidity.
DOUBLE D RING - Still the safest retention system; easy to handle and allows a perfect fit.
