Couldn't hack being cold any more and after reading many reviews decided to give it a go. Very impressed and glad I did. The vest itself is excellent quality. It heats up within seconds and wow can you feel it. Annoyingly, it doesn't come with the controller so you MUST buy this as well. Hot is too hot. I found the medium setting to be perfect on a long motorway commute in cold conditions. Sizing is strange, check reviews and the size guide before ordering. I'm a 40 inch chest and the XS fit me perfectly. Quick and easy to install wiring onto the bike as well. Excellent, rapid service from SBS once again.

I've had one of these vest (older version) for 3 years & wanted to upgrade, this one has useable pockets + an outer chest pocket. I ride all year in all weathers & these vests transform winter riding, wind proof too. Have it wired to the bike + have the battery pack for when not on the bike. As always excellent service from sportsbikeshop & as always at the best prices you can find anywhere.

Makes such a difference in the cold weather I just wear this and a t shirt under my jacket nice and toasty.

The only thing it would benefit from is the controller as standard . The garment is self is excellent and well made. Gets hot quick.

Tried the Jacket & vest. both very good quality and fit but not keen on position of controller/battery pack. Decided to return. Excellent response and service from staff at Sportsbikeshop.

Be careful of sizing. As the Keis advise, buy one size below but for some two sizes below her/his normal size will be necessary. The jacket works well.

As always, fantastic service from SBS. This is quality kit, works really well with correct sizing and minor changes. I'm 40in chest and slim build but with broad shoulders. Casual jackets etc are usually 42, bike jackets perhaps 44 due to size variations. First point, this is a vest so shoulders don't count! After discussion with SBS I went for a 38. You could say it fitted, but after years spent in winter wetsuits I knew it had to be really snug all over. It was also a bit long, overlapping my leather jeans. So I swapped for a 36 and that is perfect. It is the only size 36 item I have! Next point. The battery being in an inside pocket prevents total body contact. After much searching I found a perfect belt pouch of top quality (made for Police). It's called Protec Small Belt Pouch by MC Products. It's on Amazon for about a fiver and is the exact width of the battery. I punched a hole in the side for the lead, sealed the edges and it works brilliantly. 90% of the time I run on lowest setting and get around 2.5 hours or more. A tiny wattage to keep warm on the bike, in the workshop, in the house etc. No more 2kW heaters! A highly recommended product.

Excellent well made heated vest. Easy to wire in to my bike. So grateful I read the reviews first and ordered a size smaller than I would have done. Usually would have gone for a Large or Extra Large but ordered a Medium which is a perfect fit

Can the heated insoles be connected to this like they could with the X10? Also, does it come with the heavy duty controller like the old one used to or is that now an additional purchase?
November 12, 2019You can still connect the Keis Heated Insoles with this vest via the power output socket. Unfortunately, the V501 does not include a heat controller (optional extra).
Looking for heated gillet to play golf in the winter. 52 inch chest and would need to charge via mains or usb in the car. Cannot be too bulky. Thanks . Peter
October 22, 2019This vest is supplied with a vehicle wiring harness only, so you will need to purchase an optional Keis Battery Pack to power the garment. These are available in 2.6A and 5.2A (some options include a UK mains charger).
Can you use a different battery pack? Or does it have to be that one.
April 12, 2019Yes, any Keis battery would be suitable to use with the vest.
Can you connect gloves to the jacket like the x6/x10?
January 2, 2018The V501 heated vest does have connectors for gloves. If you do not want the wire to ruin across your back, you would need to purchase the Keis glove extension lead twin pack.
5 foot 7 inches. 42 inch chest and 42 inch belly. What size jacket do you recommend?
November 10, 2017Due to elasticated side panels, we recommend going down a size, so a size 40(xs) would seem to be the best size for you.
What other items do I need to use the vest , i.e. Do I need to buy a power pack?
October 19, 2017Motorcycle battery connection cables are included, so no power pack is needed.
