Customer Reviews for Shoei Neotec 2 - Excursion TC5
I've never had a Shoei before as I've always been put off by the price, I have now seen the error in my ways!. It's very light and comfortable and is a quite as promised, I have a Caberg which I don't think will see the light of day!. Only thing that lets this helmet down is you have to have the Sena headset as there is no room for a Scala PackTalk. Added bonus of matching the colour scheme of my Speed Triple! As always delivered promptly with no issues.Read more

Great fit and easy to use controls. It is really quiet and by far the best helmet going.Read more
Wind noise bad, comfort good
Incredibly comfortable - padding feels really high quality as you'd expect. Looks aggressive and "cool". Fit is the same as other Shoei's, or one size down from HJC. Ventilation is good at high speeds through the top vent, but non-existent at low speeds, which is pretty standard I guess. Only complaint is the noise - the wind noise is so loud, even at 35mph. Even worse is that once you shut the visor, it almost mutes all traffic noise, which is bad, but you still get the wind noise, which is double bad. I've never tried another flip front though so maybe this is just par for the course. Compared to my cheapo HJC IS-17, the wind is much louder and the traffic noise is much quieter.Read more
My best motorbike helmet yet
Despite paying a lot of money for a crash helmet there's always something that isn't quite right I find. This helmet is as close to perfect as I've found so far. For a start I think it looks pretty good, not like flip front helmets of old, though it does make me feel a bit old wearing one! The convenience of having a flip front is great though; easy to take a drink now without having to remove my lid. It's the quietest one I've worn and my last helmet was a Schuberth S2, allegedly supposed to be one of the quietest on the market when I bought that. The quality of it is also impressive. I tried on several helmets in a shop before ordering on Sportsbikeshop and the Shoei had the most positive feel to it's open and closure system. Other good things include the easy to activate internal shade and lower vent. What could be better? The top vent could be easier to operate. The visor needs to be clicked into place to close fully, something I'm getting used to. And it's bloody expensive! However it's the one that fitted me best with the features I wanted and if there's one bit of kit I don't want to skimp on it's my lid, so I went for it in the end and am not disappointed. Speedy delivery as ever from Sportsbikeshop.Read more

The Shoei helmet brand has always been at the forefront of motorcycle helmet technology since its creation, and continues to lead in terms of technical innovation, design, and safety. With over 50 years experience, they continue to manufacture the entire Shoei helmet range in Japan to this very day. Whilst the brand can undoubtedly be described as premium, Shoei helmets offer fantastic value for money when you consider the serious levels of comfort, build quality and technology that go into every helmet they produce. Shoei develop all of their bike helmets with a specific philosophy in mind which they call the Shoei Safety Concept. The thinking behind their philosophy is that crash helmets must be developed to ensure maximum head protection, whilst also providing unrivalled levels of comfort. Ultimately, Shoei believe that a relaxed ride provided through comfort makes a highly important contribution to the rider's safety. The safety elements of each bike helmet come under one of two headings, Passive or Active Safety. Passive safety includes focus on such elements as impact absorption and material rigidity whilst active safety refers to emphasis on ventilation, fit and noise reduction. Shoei are now, truly, one of the most popular and most highly rated helmet brands in the world.See all Shoei products…
Questions and Answers
Hi, Iâ m thinking of buying the neotech 2 excursion TC5. I already own a cardo scala Bluetooth headset. Will I be able to fit the cardo headset to the excursion? Thanks DJJune 7, 2019
We are failry sure that the Scala will not fit, as the Neotec 2 is designed specifically for the Sena's Neotec 2 bluetooth system. The internal sun visor lever would be in the way.
