Got it taped up
The product description doesn't tell you that the seems are all taped - they are and that puts these at the top of the pile for waterproof performance. I bought a cheaper but very popular suit before these but I got a wet crutch first time out in heavy rain. These kept me bone dry in heavy rain last week. Held have also made these a more tailored fit than some of the competitors, so they look decent on and they are also lighter and less bulky than the other suit I tried. The high level of visibility they provide gives good confidence of being seen in the murk that passes for our weather at this time of year. Excellent product.
Singing in the rain!
This suit was everything I hoped it would be and definitely worth the money. The garment quality is excellent and it feels great on. The suit is well fitted, which is what I wanted, but make sure you consider your garment layers before choosing a size. I haven't ridden in a serious downpour yet, but I have every confidence that the Held will be more than a match for the 'predictably unpredictable' British weather. Order fulfilment from SBS was super efficient as usual.
Dry and Bright
Excellent quality. Easy to get in and out of. Nice and bright as winter here and I commute in the dark. Brought a cheaper oversuit previously but only lasted a season so hopefully paying up will last longer. Don't forget to measure with all your gear on and maybe add 1 or 2 sizes. I didn't and had to exchange but no problem for SBS. Excellent service returned and bigger suit received in a couple of days. Brilliant! Thanks SBS
The Daddy of rain suits
First things first, this suit is expensive but in my opinion it's worth it. Totally and utterly watertight. No leaks, no wet crotch. Have worn in torrential rain for over an hour and stayed dry throughout. Quality stuff. It's also quite tight fitting so while a bit of a pain to wriggle your top half into (no problems with the legs as has a expanding zip so easy to get on even over boots) it hugs your leathers tightly so you don't get that annoying flapping of material especially at motorway speeds. Two minor negative points. 1. I'm 6ft1 and with a 33in inside leg and I find the legs are a bit short. When sat on the bike the elasticated bottoms ride up to shin height rather than staying at ankle level so make sure your boots are waterproof on the shin part as well. 2. The cuffs on the sleeve are pretty tight so you won't be able to get them over the top of a lot of winter gloves which means you can get rain dripping down into your glove running off the sleeve. Other than that top product and ideal for long trips in the rain.
