Held Splash Rain Suit - Black / Fluorescent Yellow
Customer Product Reviews
Good quality but baggy fit
The construction is very very good, as you would expect from a brand like HELD. However, the fit is not as flattering as the photos would lead you to believe. As somebody else already pointed out, the fit takes into account for other protection gear you will be wearing. And then some more. And then some more again. That is so on the width, whilst the length is more or less true to size. I am 170cm tall and M fits me just right from crotch to shoulders. Bought it for an upcoming week long bike trip and therefore not had a chance to test its effectiveness in the rain yet!
A well made bit of kit
A rugged rainsuit that offers good weather protection. Zippers around the ankles and the diagonal zip across the body make it easy to get it on and off. My only gripe is that the cuffs are elasticated, with no zippers - making it a bit of a challenge to get winter gloves on if you're already wearing the suit. It's quite figure hugging, so I had to go for a large (I'm 176cm) to make sure it went on over my jacket's back protector and shoulder pads.
This is a fantastic suit! All the materials and finishings are impressive. The glossy black, the yellow, and the fluorescent stripes give it a very nice look. I have not tried it under rain yet, but I have put it on to check the size. With my boots on I am 1.79 m high, but I ordered the 3XL. I would rather choose the 2XL, but it was not available with 30%OFF the price. However, over my 2XL ALPINESTARS GP PRO '16 jacket and my 5XL Buffalo Coolflow ST jeans, both with their respective thermal liners attached, only the legs and arms lengths are about 3 centimeters too much, but I can live with that, because the overall width is OK. And it is very comfortable to wear. The collar has a soft warm lining and is high enough to protect the whole neck.
Fantastic product. Fitted perfect no leaks and kept me very warm. I would recommend if you are going to go distance get one. Easy to get on and off and very comfortable. Very quick delivery . Thank you I'm a convert no more separates for me.
Favourite piece of gear yet
I'm a size 8 female and size XS is genuinely flattering which as most gals know is near impossible with bike gear. The cinched in waist gives it a proper Ripley in Alien vibe compared to a bulky coverall. Much thicker than I expected pleasantly surprised at how durable and WARM it is! Have put it on over leathers just to take off an extra bit of wind chill and it's fabulous. The zipped ankles and diagonal body zipper make it easy on and off. Even took it on a rural camping trip with no moto and was the talk of the group. Totally waterproof and by try end of the trip I'd converted everyone to getting one! 100% recommend. I love it and wear it as often as I can cause it's just so wonderful.
Great quality product. Highly recommend for people riding in a heavy weather conditions. I am 187cm. I've ordered size me on overall size is good however, when on the bike both sleeves and trousers are stiffly mowing up uncovering hands and legs. As my boots are fully waterproof I am not worried but other may be. Get bigger side just to be sure to be sure ;)
Great well made suit, but.....
This suit appears to be very well made, relatively easy to get on, excellent value but there's a but which is a deal breaker for me: Once on, I couldn't get the cuffs over my gloves as they were too tight, and I couldn't put the suit on whilst wearing the gloves as I then couldn't operate the zip with gloved hands. If this had adjustable cuffs and ankles I would have kept it. Love the red colour.
It's a great suit - high quality material, easy to slip on in a matter of secs, keeps the chill away too. The fitting allows it to be worn over any boots - mine are big ass Harley boots and this slipped over just fine. Great dispatch and packing from the Sportsbikeshop too - a job well done.
For £60 great value & decent quality. Fit wise I'm 6ft & 12 stone. I went for XL, fits OK over riding gear albeit a little baggy in the lower leg, certainly not a show stopper. Waterproofness not fully tested yet but going by the overall quality I've no reason to doubt it's effectiveness.
Great suit but be careful of sizing
It works, just tested in Swiss Alps, rain and snow ...I'm 180 cm tall, bought size M, I was wearing full Rukka under and Dainese boots, OK but the legs they could make bit longer they moving up easily on wet boots....generally I'm happy.
Expected more from a medium priced suit
The suit is very well made and much easier to put on than previous suits. Because of the lining though, I find it much easier and quicker to slip my boot into a carrier bag before pushing it through the suit. The lining does little to prevent sweating though, you don't get ringing wet but disappointingly damp enough!
I would have rated this item higher if the fit was better. I am 5'9" tall and the length of the arms, legs and body was good (M), the torso depth and width is more like a L, which isn't too much of a problem because I can fit my leather padded jacket inside for extra warmth, however, it still is a bit big. The fit on the ass is way over the top, I would have to be a gorilla to pad that out and the legs are too wide too, even with padded trousers underneath. The jacket is very warm, nicely sealed zips with Velcro tabs and the wind doesn't penetrate it at all, but it does produce quite a bit of wind resistance because of the overly wide size. My recommendation would be to get your actual clothing size and not compensate for needing to put clothes on underneath, they seem to have already taken that into consideration (and then some).
