Held Wet Tour Waterproof Jacket - Black / Orange
Customer Product Reviews
Sometimes a product comes along that just works, does what it says it will and makes you happy you got it, that's this jacket. The jacket folds up to a small size so it's easy to keep on the bike incase the heavens open up. It's breathable so you don't feel like your in a plastic bag and the zip is off centre to stop the wind freezing your chest. My motorcycle jackets are a size Large and the size Large fits over my jacket without looking like a tent, In heavy rain it keep me dry and when it needs replaced I'll get another.
Held Waterproof Jacket
Bought this after reading previous reviews. Thankfully I have not needed to use the jacket in rain as yet but no reason to think it will not be waterproof as I have used Held gear previously. The size chart suggests the same as your normal jacket as its made larger to accommodate wearing on top. I wear an RST euro 60 (4XL)leather jacket which has plenty room for extra layers below it so I went 3XL in the held. Its also big enough to go on top of my textile jacket which is adventure length. Plenty of room as like they say it is made larger than normal bike wear. I probably could have got away with a 2XL but I hate having restricted movement when wearing waterproofs. A well made jacket that is high at the neck which I also like.
This is definitely my Best Buy of 2018, it looks really cool, really well styled, fits perfectly over my jacket, I am very visible and most importantly I have tested it during a whole week of rain on my commute, and stayed dry. I have not taken it off since I got, so I highly recommend it. Kind regards Douglas
100% waterproof, easy to put on and sized perfectly (I wear EU52 2 piece leathers, and an M fits perfectly over). The collar is a little bulky, so you need to pack the hood away carefully (if you ever use it), packs very small, not yellow.
Does it deserve its top rating
Ordered this product based on (a) it's NOT yellow, (b) excellent rating by others. Not had opportunity to test it in heavy rain yet, but it appears to be well-designed and well.made. Sizing comes up a tad smaller than expected, but maybe that's just me. I have every confidence that when I have to use it, it will provide the protection I expect of it. My only doubt is the quality of the zipper. Its fine teeth appear too flimsy, but maybe this style is used to better-prevent water ingress. Time will tell.
Great rain jacket - does exactly what it says
This rain jacket is exactly what I was looking for. It's a good fit, easy to move in on the bike and, most importantly, waterproof! The only slight comment I have is that that cost is a bit intrusive on my shoulder checks. Because the his is stored in here and I'm a target short (5'2 inch) woman, I find the stiffness of it and is height gets a bit in the way of my helmet. To be honest I think this realty is to do with my small size and I notice that others don't find this a problem so I've mentioned it but wouldn't let this out you off. I don't want the hood for off bike use do an going to cut it off. I do love the jacket and I love the best colour!
Excellent quality at a reasonable price
100% waterproof, quality material and well designed, and excellent fit, so no billowing affect when riding. When warm there was no condensation inside the jacket, I was totally dry. The high collar with the hood tucked inside is excellent and stops water running inside your jacket from the back of your helmet and protects you from the front. Highly recommended.
Be visible but not yellow
Spent time looking for a highly visible jacket that wasn't yellow. The Held Wet Tour jacket is one of the few that fitted the bill. This jacket had the added bonus of a Ride magazine recommendation and being only 5' 8 inch there is no issue with the jacket being on the short side. Construction and fit second to none in the same price bracket. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this product.
Superb quality jacket
Outstanding quality jacket. Orange colour is highly visible and not the normal fluro or black. The best thing is the fit over a one - piece race suit, absolutely spot on, fits like a glove, also cut long enough when in riding position.
Waterproof and visible
I had researched biking waterproofs and Held Wet Tour came out as a good all rounder. They do the job and are breathable too although in stationary traffic they can get a little stuffy. The bright colour is a bonus to enable the rider to be seen in damp and dark conditions.
This product has great quality and the sizing of it is perfect. I ordered the size my husband would normally wear, it was perfect. The colour is so different from the normal fluorescent yellow. It is a nice change and really vibrant.
Very bright, but, that's why I bought it. I'm a 40 chest and a medium in this jacket fits very well over both my leather jacket and my heavier textile jacket. Great fit, not tight but no excess fabric, so, no flapping about. Got caught in extremely heavy rain for a few hours, stayed nice and dry. For me the only downside is the hood. Not sure of the practicality of it for bike use. The hood has a stiff peak which folds away very well but this makes the collar quite high. When on the Sports bike, I found that the collar caught the back of the helmet sometimes. I can live with it, its fine on the Sports Tourer though, as I'm sitting more upright.
Wanted a waterproof over jacket to replace the inner of my RST suit for multi week trips but doesn't act like a crisp packed and produce condensation. Jacket fits just right and a better colour than the dayglo yellow (IMHO, and as I am on a KTM). Will get a full test of waterproofness on a trip around Scotland next month.
Great waterproof jacket
I'm about 5'8'' and 44 chest and the Large fits great over either my textile or leather jacket. Orange is a bit Tango'd but means good visibility and with Autumn / Winter approaching happy for that. Used in a 25min very wet journey and stayed totally dry, the high collar although stiff gives a great seal under helmet. Might be pricey but gotta say well worth the money.
Comfortable and dry, superb
Have been holding back on reviewing this as had been fortunate to not get caught out in the rain whilst riding. Well, that just changed and rode home in medium to heavy rain for 20 miles. Jacket packs reasonably small, as do the trousers, into the supplied net bags. Together smaller than my previous once piece. Even better, if you roll them together, you can fit both jacket and trousers into one bag, smaller still. Not sure if that's design or just luck. The front zipper has a fairly narrow storm flap on the inside but the zip seems to be one of these clever sealing ones. External side pockets are normal zips but have thin flaps that close over them when closed, wouldn't assume they would be waterproof but handy all the same. Jacket kept me nice and dry, no boil and bag sweaty feeling either though a/ it wasn't that hot, and b/ I was only out for half an hour. However, there was zero moisture (sweat condensation) inside that I would have expected a slight coating of. So it looks like the material does breathe to a certain extent. Fit was very good. I have separate body armour underneath (Forcefield) and a jacket with a hump (Dainese Santa Monica), usually a 44 chest but the jacket is a 56/46 to accommodate the FF armour. An XL fits this perfectly. The sleeves long enough with good cuff closure that opens to allow gloves under and then tighten over. Marginal wind flapping on upper arms but likely my fairing and maybe I should work out more... Jacket overlap with trousers is good and the back of the jacket long with some grippy material to stop it riding up. Colour is bright and very noticeable, black panels add a bit of style making it look a lot better and not just a cheap over garment. A high quality, well designed garment. Couldn't be happier with it TBH.
