Givi E251 Universal Monokey Adaptor Plate
Customer Product Reviews
Easy to fit even for a duffer like me. Was a bit fiddly to fit on the GS but it is rock solid and doesn't vibrate. I haven't a top box yet but I use the base to strap my pet carrier to the back to make it more stable when the dog rides pillion. For the money it's a no brainer compared to the cost of other brands
It all seems good..
But I'm yet to properly test the plate with a loaded box on. I've got a v47 top box and it feels reassuringly secure on the E251 plate. The instructions from Givi aren't the best, but fitting the base plate isn't rocket science so is easy enough to figure out. Fitted a brake light kit at the same time which wasn't quite as easy to figure out. All in all seems like a decent, robust and secure base plate.
I've given it 3 only because I bought this to go on my Bmw rack. The bolts are not long enough so had to buy some more bolts ??. The rack plate which I think it's called is made from plastic I think it's up to the job ??? I hope it is
Very versatile top plate
Great Givi/Kappa Monokey top plate with four sets of fixings that can be placed anywhere on the grid to give it an almost inifinite number of options for locking it in place. The only reason I haven't given it a 5 is because the fixings just fall off when you undo them but once they are in place they are perfectly secure. The cover hides away all the fixings after the plate is secured.
Quick and easy to join the Trekker Dolomiti to the bikes rack. The screws/mounting brackets are surprisingly good at holding it steady and multiple holes help make sure it fits. Only issue I had is the screws for mounting the Givi cover plate (far right in pic) were too big for the receiving holes.. bit odd but doesn't hamper the effectiveness.
Solid and well-designed
A very sturdy and well-designed product. I fitted it to a chrome Honda rack and it's as solid as can be. Tip: use a cordless drill on lowish torque setting with hex key bit to ensure all the screws are tightened evenly.
