Roof Boxer V8 Full - Matt Black
Customer Product Reviews
So far so good
Had this helmet for a short while in good weather, so far so good. Comfortable at 60mph with chin bar open and with chin bar closed adequate ventilation in temp of 24c. The catches for chin bar work fine but look a bit weird wheN open as they are red And look like ears, painted them black, looks better in my opinion. All in all very happy with purchase.
Bought purely for it's style this helmet was better as an all-rounder than it has any right to be. Great vision through the larger than normal visor. Surprisingly quiet, better than my favourite Shark helmet. Excellent ventilation too. If I were to be picky then the only real criticism I have is the visor and flip front take a bit of practice to get used to. Nevertheless, I'm very happy with my purchase. And of course, Sportsbikeshop were a pleasure to deal with. Great job!
Great not perfect
The Roof Boxer is an awesome helmet. But not perfect. It looks great, feels great. Very light but strong. Great vision while wearing it too. Spacious off the face compared to a full face, great for those hot summer days. Downsides: it's feels and looks a little big, wind noise and a little too much airflow through the helmet. The roof boxer helmet is more akin to a open face helmet to a full face (more so than regular flip front helmets) it is great for normal cruising and urban riding, but if I am going to be doing any amount of motorway riding I will switch back to my full face HJC.
Great looking but poor quality. The shell is larger than most but my biggest issue was the vents on top. Stuck on with what seems like a hot glue gun they were falling off. Sportsbikeshop as always were brilliant, speedy refund and excellent customer service.
Coolest out there by far
Fancied a change after 15 years with Arai's. This caught my eye for obvious reasons. I went for the Matt Titanium Black and Silver Visor. Together they look the mutts. I read a few conflicting reviews about the fit, but it fitted me perfectly going on the size guide, and it's very comfortable to boot. After 3 months riding, only issue I would have to raise is the noise, but no noisier than my Arai's, earplugs sort that. Visor operation is easy enough once you get used to having the 'button' at the top. Point to note here, the Silver Visor will fog up when stationary, I have yet to find a Anti Fog that fits due to its close proximity to the seal during open and closing. You'll have to have the flip front fully open to get it on and off, not much of an issue, and the flip operation takes a bit to get used to it if you've never used one before, it becomes second nature soon enough. Buckle requires a positive touch, (big fingers), not necessarily a bad thing of course, but secured it's faultless. So far construction and quality seem superb, just make sure you register the lid with Roof.fr for the extended warranty of 4 years. Overall, very pleased, and it looks cool as with a Union Jack Buff when riding flipped open.
