Buffalo Yukon Gloves - Black
Customer Product Reviews
Had these for 1 ride and initially thought wow these are warm although after 2 hours tips of fingers started to feel cold but not too bad, the problem was when I took the left one off in the middle of a 30min test ride the whole inside came with it after 10 minutes fiddling I shoved it in my jacket and rode back without it, the thumbs on each glove are also too long so no real feeling in controls I'd ordered other sizes also and this was a common theme returned for another brand
Fair to middling
These gloves for the price point are good value. They are warm to the point my hands sweat making the inside of the glove damp, I might have to buy some under gloves. I also find them a bit tight getting them on and off but the actual fit is fine. Once on they are a little slippy at first but fifty miles and they feel fine on the controls.
Bulky but warm
Ive not had a chance to try these in a good downpour yet hence only 4 stars. They are very warm and quite comfortable but can be sweaty which causes the thumb lining to come away when removing. Thumbs are bulky making switch gear difficult but better than cold hands and when removed they leave your hands smelling of dry cleaning fluid !!!
I have worn these glove 4 times and the stitching along the fingers especially they left hand where there is a lot of clutch movement have all come undone. As I have my mod 1 & 2 tomorrow I have had to superglue the stitching together to at least last the day. Either my pair is defective or the quality construction is rubbish.
Very good value
I actually returned these since despite the hand fitting well, they were long in the finger (especially the little finger) and didn't feel safe for my hands on the controls. Otherwise they felt well made, with a good wrist closure, decent visor wipe and solid knuckle protection.
These gloves strike a nice balance, warm but not too bulky all at a great price. Hands started to get a bit chilly after a 3 hour ride at about 8 degrees but never so cold to distract me from riding. Great fit (sizing guide is accurate) and the one handed drawstring works well. Also these gloves look fine worn with a race type leather jacket compared to other more bulky gloves that I've owned. Would recommend these for all but the coldest weather. Perfect for chilly days.
Brilliant fit, especially as I have fat hands (9.5-10.5cm I'm 5'10 inch 44 inch chest - bigboned). Warm yet not too tight to the point that they're not practical or uncomfortable. Feels like it could stand up to me coming off and bouncing along the A13. Confident that I'll have hands that aren't grated down to the bone!
Value for money
I was lucky enough to win these winter gloves. However, while they are adequate, it's not too long before the tips of fingers start to feel the cold, albeit worn on a very cold day. So, personally, I'd say that they're best for early spring and autumn.
Quality glove, great service
Bought these as a winter glove which they probably aren't. Hands began to get cold at around 5 degrees but still great value for money. Nice features including drawstring closure. I usually take a large but the medium fitted nice and snug. Impeccable service as always from Sportsbikeshop.
Not super impressed...
I don't have much positive things to say about these gloves aside from they have good knuckle protection and were good at keeping your hands warm (from what I can remember anyways). What really let these gloves down was the build quality and fit. I got the gloves in Large size which was roughly what I needed according to the size chart and my hand did fit into them without feeling too tight. My fingers also fit into the glove pretty well, with very little dead space at the end of the fingers, however they did feel overly padded at the finger tips and the thumb area is rubbish, it was way too long for my thumb and this made it hard to use it for any sort of precision actions. Now onto the internal liner, which is what made me really start to hate the product. The lining is thermal, which is nice and keeps your hands warm, but unfortunately my hands get quite sweaty, especially when warm. This lead to the lining getting 'stuck' on my fingers and being pulled out of their finger sockets when I removed my hand from the glove. This was without a doubt the biggest pain in the bum I've ever had when riding, so much so that I had to start carrying around a bloody pen just to get the lining properly aligned with the right finger slots! I have probably lost a good few hours of my life from the countless times Ive had to faff around for ten minutes trying to get the lining aligned again after taking my gloves off to check my phone or open a bag. Finally the build quality wasn't great. The middle finger on one of my gloves basically destroyed itself. Where the fabric that covers the underside of the glove meets the leather tore itself open. Let me make it clear that these gloves have seen maybe, at a push, 500 miles worth of riding, most of that in sunny summer days, with only a few occasional rainy days and have never been involved in a sort of accident. For the glove to tear itself open with what I consider, gentle use, is frankly ridiculous.
