RST Tractech Evo CE Glove - Black
Customer Product Reviews
Good race gloves
I use these gloves for racing and although they were not originally my first choice, the gloves fit well and look to be substantial. Only rated good for the below reasons. Key Highlights of the gloves to me are as follows: - Long cuff - some race gloves have a shorter cuff which means the gloves can ride up a little but these do not. The only thing I would like to see changed would be additional protection on the cuff (but I'm sure that is covered by the more expensive version of the glove). - Double strap - the glove benefits from a double strap on the cuff meaning you can have a nice customisable fit - I like mine snug. - Little finger space - Some Large gloves I have tried tend to suffer from a short little finger. These gloves give a little more space as well as the bridge protection. - Knuckle protection is substantial, better than most. - The cut/quality of the leather is OK, but for the price range you may expect better. Compared to the Oxford RP-1 gloves, these are more expensive but look cheaper in the flesh. Overall I am happy with the glove - and the service Sportsbikeshop gave - but I think there are areas that could be improved that would change this from a good glove to being an excellent glove for it's price range. For an extra 10 pounds you can get the flagship RST glove - which seems like a trivial price difference to have 2 models of glove?
Great summer glove
Admittedly, the time of posting isn't the season for wearing summer gloves, but these are nigh perfect for warmer weather. A good base fit is made all the better by the double cuff and single wrist Velcro closure tabs. The carbon knuckle protection is the same sort of quality that I've had on other (and much higher priced) gloves. You really will not notice the conjoined third and fourth digits unless you're a strange beast who uses three fingers on the levers. The leather on the palms is fine enough to give plenty of feel and feedback without giving the impression it will tear or give out in a fall. Outstanding value for money and a great colour for those of us who ride something in Kawasaki green. Highly recommended.
Pretty good but are showing signs of wear
Sizing is good. I'm in-between medium and large so opted for large which was the right decision. Comfort is good, leather is soft. The cuff is semi stiff which helps when putting your hand and coat sleeve in. I have found after only a month, that the wrist strap has worn away the leather surface quite a lot and also like other reviewers, one of the fingers rubber slider pieces near the end has torn/cracked and fallen off. No idea how or why but other reviews have mentioned the same thing happening. Another point worth mentioning is quality control. The stitching and material on the right glove index finger is twisted so instead of the fingers grippy pad being where it should be, its twisted round so out of place. For the price I wasn't too bothered as everything else was good. Should easily last a couple of years daily use. Lastly, the thumb is a bit short, and the fingers are almost too long. Odd combo, but both left and right glove are the same? I can fit silk glove liners in them too without feeling at all bulky. Would I buy again? Yes I would.
