Schuberth M1 - Vienna White
Customer Product Reviews
Very impressed with this well made helmet. Looks great, external visor is huge! Internal visor very useful. It is quieter than my full-face Arai - I wear this all the time now. 10/10 without hesitation, and I haven't even tried the comms stuff out yet.
Real comfy and quiet
Fantastic quality as you would hope for at this price point. Real comfy and quiet. Had Arai X tend before and much prefer this. Vent on top of helmet actually works very well, can feel breeze over scalp in hot weather. Nice light weight as well. Definitely recommendable. As usual great service from Sportsbikeshop.
Had several J1 helmets in the past. They were always well made and quiet in use. As J1 are one discontinued, went to M1. If anything they are better. Lack of chin bar was an issue for me, but more than offset by brilliant integrated SRC comms system. Yes Schuberth are expensive, but 'you get what you pay for' and I value my head.
Expand your vision
I have been using a C3 Pro now for a couple of years and have been happy with it. So when I decided to get an open face helmet for the summer, I decided that I would stick with the brand. The quality of the helmet is OK, but not as plush as my C3 pro. Weight is excellent, very light and comfortable to wear. The vision through the large visor is better than expected. Very good for filtering and scenic rides. No Pinlock insert is included which is a shame, cold mornings will still fog the visor due to your breath in slow traffic. The vents are very good. Size wise my Pro is Large so I ordered the same in the M1. I think it is very slightly larger, but not enough to cause problems with fit on my head though. A generally good helmet! As regards to cost, I got mine on special offer so I am satisfied. As to £360 full price, not so sure.
This is superbly comfortable, really good quality, and beautifully designed. It would have got a better rating if a piece of the visor mechanism had not fallen out. Rapidly repaired and returned, but it really shouldn't have happened in the first place on a helmet this expensive.
Having owned Arai's for as long as I can remember including the SZ Ram, I find the M1 more comfortable and quieter. It offers better peripheral vision and the drop down sun visor is an added bonus as is the option to remove the face screen and fit a peak if you wish.
This is a great helmet. I have a Schuberth C3 and wanted an open face one so went for the M1 for the good weather, but the visor is so good that I wear it every time I go out on my bikes. I am just back from a 4 day tour of the West of Scotland in the rain and it was better than a full face helmet.
