Customer Product Reviews
A good camera
For £99 pounds, really good toy for any sport activities and more like a car camera. Small enough to forgot about it on the bicycle helmet. Only downsize is you cannot replace the battery if you would like to record longer then 3 hours. Anyway worth the money.
Pretty damn good for £99
I have a Drift Ghost S which is this chap's big brother. In full sunlight they are hard to tell apart with regards to quality. The Stealth will only take a 32gb micro sd card compared to the 64 in the Ghost and the battery is fixed so you can't keep spares ready at hand like the Ghost. The fact that it is rather petite makes it great for helmet mounting and it also fits into the same mounts as the Ghost. Being able to rotate the sensor is good too as then it doesn't matter what the angle the surface that it is mounted on. I paired it with a Ghost remote control and that worked perfectly too.
Drift Stealth 2 as a hatcam
The product is good quality and performs well. Good battery life at approx 3 hrs and good quality footage at 30fps 1080 - enough to clearly see number plates of passing cars. Can't view footage through the device though, you need the app on your phone and the device linked. I use the clip fixed to a hat band, whilst initially I noticed the additional weight, after an hour I could hardly notice it. Bought as a safety measure this does exactly what I need for a competitive price.
Small but mighty
A great little helmet camera which is well made and good quality. It fits into the palm of your hand but don't let it's size fool you. It takes great quality videos. It can be rather noisy when out on the bike riding against the wind! Great value for the price.
Camera for push-bike
Bought this primarily for use as a helmet cam on my bike. I also bought the windscreen mount to use in car. At the time of reviewing I haven't yet had chance to use in car. On my bike the camera worked fine. A lot of wind noise picked up on sound but that is to be expected. Easy to use once you have familiarised yourself with controls. Biggest problem for me was play back. I do not have a PC but use Android phone and tablet and also an iPad. Having downloaded the connect app to all 3 I could not get the iPad or phone to connect but eventually managed to connect to Android tablet. The camera is well made looks like it will last and is sufficiently waterproof for the odd rain shower.
Great little camera when it works
Great picture quality but mine seems to have a problem adjusting from dark to bright light, where the screen just flashes bright white repeatedly. Talking to Drift about the issue and so far their support is very good. It's easy to use once you get the hang of the menus. Phone app is OK but a jerky playing video from the camera.
I bought this to use on my motorbike as a back up for insurance in the event of an accident. I've only tested it in the car so far as a dish cam and it seems to work well. It's easy to use and set up although the video quality is a bit lower than I expected, but is good enough to be used as evidence in the event of an accident, so is fine for me.
This is the first action camera I have purchased. There were plenty of cheaper ones on the market but I was taken by the styling of the Drift Stealth. I am really impressed with the quality and good clear quality footage. I think a couple of my work colleagues are now interested in the Drift and at a reasonable price for a good quality camera.
Great quality camera. Very light and less obtrusive than others. Mic gets a bit overwhelmed with wind noise even at low sensitivity setting. Also has some problems with corrupting MP4 files if the battery dies while recording, but I believe this can be a problem for most cameras. Files can be repaired (with some effort and specialist software).
Value for money
The product is made to a high standard. The video quality is very good. The only negative thing is wind noise as the mic is exposed, so on playback, all you can hear is wind which is disapointing. The camera is very light, so sits nicely on the side of the helmet and the controls are easy to use with gloves on. Overall, happy with the product.
Easy to use
A great little action cam that fits nicely into my cycling helmet. Easy to use with crystal clear 1080p HD videos and pics. The only drawback is the noise of the wind. Even with the microphone turned to its lowest, on playback it's really annoying!!! Hopefully this will be addressed and amended in the near future, hence 4 marks out of 5.
Good, unless you get a bad one
Great service from Sportsbikeshop and the camera is excellent so far. Doesn't fit properly on my vented cycle helmet but I bought a handlebar mount which works fine. Quality is good, with car number plates easily visible. This is my second one though. First purchase from Amazon was OK until the battery died on my fourth ride. Other people have had this problem too. I took a chance a bought the replacement and it's paid off so far. As long as they've fixed the battery issue this is a great product.
Perfect size but has issues
The camera is the perfect size and the battery life is great however there are problems. Wind noise is terrible but you can fix it with a bit of tape over the mic. It also has issues charging where the charging icon will freeze and wont tell you when it's done.
Great little camera
Great service from Sportsbikeshop. I wanted a more discreet camera for mounting on my helmet, I have got GoPro's but they are just too big. This camera has surpassed what I was expecting the video quality is great even at 1080p 30fps. It has a very good battery life as well which is a great point for me and it is easy to operate in every way. It is waterproof and the lens clears easy as you are traveling. Might get another for what they cost.
Like the size on the side of my Helmet. Buttons are OK to operate but I may try a remote to make it easier. Noise can be an issue with the wind. Not tried a foam pad on the mic. Improvements? A lens / screen cover for transporting it? But I like it a lot.
