Duchinni D205 - Anthracite
Customer Product Reviews
Form and function
I recently got back into biking after many years- mainly because my son was threatening to hit the tarmac with a 'ped', so I needed a new helmet. I love the look ( and safety) of a full face but really prefer the open face ones. After a fair bit of searching I decided on the D205 for these reasons: it is light, looks OK has a longish visor and the drop down sun visor. And I didn't need a second mortgage to buy it. On the road it does let some wind in of course but also keeps most of the weather out. The profit will be on warmer days running with the visor up or taken off. If I had to be very critical, I would say that the optical quality of the sun visor could be a bit better and my son says it makes me look old!!! However can you trust the judgement of someone who would go out in the snow with plimsoles and a T shirt on? So I would say the 205 is a comfortable lid with a good mix of form and function, but probably not for folk that go above 70mph.
Excellent value open face helmet
I bought this helmet as I wanted an open Face helmet for a bike trip in the Himalayas. I'm surprised by the excellent quality. Fit is good and over the first five times I've worn it, it's been comfortable and surprisingly quiet. The dark visor lever feels a bit lightweight but has worked fine so far. Very good value for money!
Great lightweight helmet with next day delivery
Wanted an open-face helmet ready for summer, but nothing too retro. This has all the features I needed, double visor, removable and washable liner, adjustable air-flow, quick release strap. Plus a tool-less visor release system. Now just need some decent weather!
Value for money all the way
I recently acquired a classic moped, and wanted something better than a cyclist helmet, but not a full on motorbike helmet. This fits the bill. The open face design is great, the full face visor is great for keeping the cold off your face and the flip down sun visor works well, even though I wear glasses. It is better with small frame glasses. In the cold weather, it can fog up some and the section directly in front of the nostrils and mouth with form water drops. I use a anti fog substance and it cures that small problem. The helmet is sturdy with an easy quick release strap. I found the site and the descriptions etc. really easy to navigate, and get a good idea of what you are buying. I used the customer service e mail service and got quick replies to my questions. I also bought a Motogp bag which fits the moped carrier and holds the helmet well along with cycle lock gloves etc. and tools in the zip up pockets. It's meant to go on a motorbike rear seat or large carrier, but I adapted the moped carrier and if fits great and is easy to attach and detach. Altogether I had a good buying experience, and with a money off voucher from the helmet purchase got a good deal on the bag. Great site, wish I needed more stuff!!
Great helmet and excellent service
Before I bought this helmet, I spoke to Sportsbikeshop, asking what type of "head shape" the Duchinni D205 had. Mark at SBS told me that it was on the "narrow" side like a Shoei, so I ordered one (I have a Shoei GT Air already). Upon arrival I found he had been correct and the fit is excellent. FYI: I have a 58.5 head and I bought the L size helmet. At this price point, the D205 is excellent value for money. I could have bought a Shoei J-Cruise which is more plush but no safer.
