Customer Product Reviews
Upgrade on my old pants
Not been out in torrential rain yet but if there as good as my Oxford continental jacket they will be perfect Very warm in cold conditions excellent fit and very comfortable to wear even off the bike quality gear at a fantastic price thanks to the guys at Sportsbikeshop.
Great Kit for bad weather
Bought these on whilst reduced. What a bargain, they are comfortable warm and most importantly dry. I have ridden through torrential rain and strong winds and to date brilliant. They came with braces which helps keep them up as these aren't lightweight. I'm a chunky gorilla in stature but the fit is great with a cummerbund type waist my lower back feels cushioned adding to the comfort whilst riding. My only minor gripes are, slightly longer leg zips would make them easier with boots and the knee pads can shift into the inside of my knees. I would wholeheartedly endorse these to anyone who rides in all weathers and temperatures.
Not designed for the fat guy
It's a really good pair of trousers and does what it says on the tin. I'm commuting in it daily and got caught out in the rain many times. No leeks, no discomfort. Even riding in 2C degrees it is warmish as I don't have to use thermal underwear with this and jeans on. It lost 1 star from review as the braces that comes with it is not designed well. It kept rolling down my shoulders as at my back, the two strips were wide apart, not forming the necessary Y shape to stay in place (more like a H shape). It is easily removable though, so I just put my old braces back on.
Great pair of trousers
So far so good. They're warm enough that even mid December I can wear shorts underneath and don't need the thermal liner. I haven't tested them in full torrential rain but the usual pour down has come and gone and so far they've left me bone dry. I wasn't a fan of the suspenders but they're heavy and so slide down if you need to walk so I use them now. Last thing is the knee protection, it's way too low and needs adjusting. It's more shin protection when you get it. There is a small Velcro section at the bottom of each pant leg, open it and reach up between the lining to adjust the knee protection. They're Velcro'd on so you just need to pull em off then move em up.
PERFECT COMFORT AT LAST
Waterproofs over leathers tight all round. Old expensive textiles so tight on waist couln't breath. These ones are unbelievably comfortable all round & keep the small of my back warmer. Found just foam rubber inside hip protector pocket; However, with CE Hip Protectors (Not supplied) they would be 100% perfect. THANKS!
My legs aren't long enough !
Great trousers, comfortable and warm. I got a small size as recommended and I am a 31 inside leg. However, the knees are lower than my knees so the protection is in the wrong place when my legs are straight. Once legs bent then just about ok. If you have shorter legs than me find another type.
Great pair of trousers, a good fit and easily adjustable. Only worn the these once on a recent cold day ride, very warm without the liner fitted. Braces do have a habit of sliding off my shoulders (but probably require some fine adjustment). On the whole, well worth the money.
Great Jeans just the job
Great bike jeans, took a while to adjust the knee amour as they were a bit low, easy enough though, Velcro pocket at front by bottom hem, in place now, tried them on about 6 times got them where I thought was right, wore them to work and just had to move the left knee down and left when I got in, wore the next day, perfect, as far as size goes I can say that I'm a 32/32 in Levi 501's so I got a small regular (32/32), and they fit like a glove, also added the hip protector, they are extremely comfortable, have water proof pockets both sides just above the knees which have a zip and Velcro and zip pockets on hips and they are nice and cosy even with the lining out, maybe this is a bit psychological although they also make you feel a lot safer, many thanks to SBS, highly recommended.
Unfortunately, poor quality
I only wore these trousers twice before noticing faults with them. One of the zips on the hip pocket failed and the braces started to fray. I may have just been unlucky but I had to return them and find alternative trousers. On the plus side they were comfortable and well sized.
First pair of motorcycle pants
The quality of the pants are good and there are a lot of pockets which is handy. I like the removable thermal liner also. Only thing I would say is that I ordered the correct length and waist size but the knee protection is very low (down around the shins and barely on the knee even in the riding position). I did manage to adjust them up higher to a better position but right now half of the protector is off of the velcro altogether so not sure what to think about that.
Best pair of trousers I've had so far!
Unlike many other brands I have tried these trousers are true to size and leave room for a back protector nicely. They also fit well when on or off the bike and the braces make comfort even better, removing the need to tighten the waist so much it pinches when sat down. Haven't tested how waterproof they are yet, but I'm sure they won't let me down.
ON paper it has all the credentials Plus: long leg version available, good outside pockets, acceptable armour Minus: heavy, thermal liner is not warm & too thin & it always gets caught up, not tailored properly but just thrown together; excess material, bulky, boot entry zip/ velcro poorly designed and the front zip is too short! at £100, it is a decent buy.
