Oxford Continental 2.0 Textile Jeans - Black
Customer Product Reviews
This is a very robust and smart pair of all weather trousers. The materials used and build quality looks good. Plenty of useful pockets and adjustment options. The waist closure, with strong velcro around the hook clasp can be difficult to open but after practice you get the hang of it. I can't imagine ever needing the liner as they're warm enough so far without but they might be good for a 'King and I' themed party :) Size wise the M/Short fitted spot on for 34 waist and 30 leg - the regular length was far too long. If you want them as over trousers then a size up might be best. Top marks for SportsBikeShop's returns/replacement service.
So far, so very good...
I replaced a two year old pair of Buffalo Pacific trousers with these and wasn't aware of how much of an upgrade they'd turn out to be. Firstly they're so much warmer, feel far more sturdy in construction quality, have pockets in all the right places with zips that are easy to open and close, I like the extra velcro and large storm flap around the ankle zips. What felt like a bonus to me when they arrived were the removable braces which weren't apparent in the pictures online, they, combined with the large back panel they hold up against you, really make a difference to warmth and comfort on cold, blowy days. So far they have survived a decent wintery downpour, holding back the icy water just fine.
These are fantastic and I am very happy with them. Warm, waterproof and with good protection. I am a 32 waist and 5'11" and a medium trouser fitted me fine. As others have said, it would be ideal if they did medium long length (my size is 32" waist and 34" length), but as long as you are wearing boots, the trousers are OK.
Mighty bang for your buck
Adaptable to hot or cold conditions. I'm a 6ft slim, 33/32 ordinarily and the medium regular 34/32 suit perfectly. Plenty of adjustability and great bang for your buck. Not fully waterproof in heavier showers (usually a tall order and demands a higher price tag).
Pros and cons
Only owned these a few weeks however I think I can make a review on this product. All being well they do take quite a bit of time to get on comfortably (wearing tradesman trousers underneath). And the armour on them can no be changed. Excluding these factors i cannot fault this product. I've rode in the heaviest of downpours on roads with awful drainage next to lorries and yet they do not fail. They keep me dry and warm. Based on how effective they are at what I bought them for. I would not recommend anything else!
These are a lovely, comfy pair of trousers with a very strange clip thing. I bought these in a size up from my usual size, only to discover (just too late) that all the reviews mention that they matched buyers' normal trouser sizes. They are very slightly roomy one size up, certainly not enough to return them though. They have a very comfy expandable waist and are very warm and (so far) waterproof. Now the weird bit. Perhaps I haven't got the knack yet but the clip that fastens the waist is in the middle of a pool of Velcro. Brilliant idea if your waist keeps expanding and buttons might otherwise pop off when you sit down, like mine have been known to do from time to time. However this brilliance is counter-balanced by their awkwardness when you try to undo them as the Velcro stops the clip from undoing. Very annoying when an emergency wee is needed and you can't get them off! Anyway, despite this I still give five stars and highly recommend to anyone who is heavily influenced by reviews when buying their gear (like me).
