Oxford Continental 2.0 Textile Jeans - Black
Customer Product Reviews
Comfortable and warm even with the thermal liner removed. Bought these jeans to go with the Oxford Motreal Jacket and I am very pleased with both. I have stayed completely dry in some heavy showers. Excellent performance and good value.
My first touring pants and they were impressive straight from the box. Seem a little heavy but I guess that's because of all the protection (multiple layers). Knee guards are adjustable with Velcro, it's tricky to position them but they stay in place. Bought hip protectors and placed them with the sponges you get with the pants. They go a bit high I guess (above the belly button) but they fit well and they also protect the kidneys somewhat. Thermal liner goes to about mid shin. Overall great product.
Good combat style pants
For the price you really cant complain at these pants. Very good quality, good sizing, can store all sorts in them, keep the weather out really well and are good and comfy. no issues with these at all and would recommend to anyone doing daily rides like commuting.
Great commuting trousers
Great pair of trousers. Use for commuting to work and back so wear over a pair of normal everyday trousers. Best to go a for one size up to allow room for the trousers underneath but fit is great. Keeps me dry and warm on cold and rainy days. Very comfortable and the braces are actually a great addition. Highly recommended.
5 stars - Does exactly what I wanted at good value
Bought these trousers for a 660mile camping trip in the lake district from Peterborough. Thunder and lightning on the way up and constant showers on the way down the A1, I remained comfortable and dry. Great product with a quality feel and at good value.
Nice waterproof all year trousers
The first pair I received had a faulty zip, but Sportsbikeshop replaced them with no hassle at all. Apart from that, the trousers are great and very well made. I have ridden in the rain and they seem very waterproof. The material is quite thick, so with the lining in, I'd imagine they can be comfortably worn throughout the winter. Overall I'm very happy with them.
How to adjust knee armour
There's a hidden Velcro opening at the hem (lowest point) of the pants. Pull it apart and reach in to access the armour. The armour itself is held in place with another Velcro strap running vertically along it. Just pull the armour off it and refit as necessary. I hope this helps some of you mad b******* save your knees, and if it does I hope Allah the Almighty will reward me for it. As for the review: Excellent pants! Sturdy, comfortable, surprisingly not as sweaty as it ought to be considering how dry they keep me in torrential rain. Although the crotch area in contact with the seat does seep a little after prolonged rain. Really good pants though.
Comfort and security
Excellent product. I didn't expect to get a lined product and with a removable liner also, but the fit is impeccable with and without the liner. I live in the middle of France and at this time of year it is very hot so waterproof testing will have to wait but the comfort and flexibility is exceptional.
As I said, can't fault them. Used for a few weeks now in all weathers. Not needed the liner as plenty warm enough on colder days, but still good ventilation when required. Fit seems pretty good. Armour needed adjusting at the knee but now is very comfortable. Would buy these again if I had to.
Value for money
I bought the Montreal Jacket and continental Jacket as a compromise to a returned helmet which could not be replaced with a larger size. After taking care and analyzing the sizing, I was more than pleased with the fit and quality of the product. Saying that, 'Oxford' genuinely have a good name for themselves anyway. I haven't had either of them in the rain yet but I am sure that I will not be left disappointed if other reports are anything to go by. The detachable braces are also good if you are walking around without a jacket and don't want to feel or look restricted. You would struggle to get better for the same money.
First is should say I did send these back as they were too big. They were ordered in the exact same size as another set of Oxford trouser bought at the same time however these were much longer than expected compared to the other set. The knee protectors were shin level even on the bike! That said they are a lovely quality textile trouser, good pockets and nice detailing. Hip protection too which isn't amazing but better than none. I would like to have kept these but the sizing and fit for me just wasn't right. Give them a try because if they fit they are very good value as far as looks and comfort go!
Bought these after much deliberation, an absolute bargain for the price. 38 waist short leg perfect fit for me. Very warm, completely waterproof in really heavy weather, that's on a 240 mile motorway trip. Don't think I can say much more and I don't even work for maker or Sportsbikeshop.
Good but not perfect
I have done 14 hours of riding with these trousers and they kept me fairly warm and completely dry through some very heavy rain. I particularly like the zipped and Velcro leg pockets because you know your phone and wallet are safe and will stay dry. They look good and have reasonable adjustments to get a reasonable fit. I am slim with a 32 inch waist so got the Small initially but had to return them because I could not even get my legs into them (generally I feel the cut of these trousers is a bit tight). The Medium is a bit big at my waist but better elsewhere. The braces are useful in this respect. My main problem is that the knee protectors hurt my knees while I am riding. I've tried to adjust them but they do not appear to be adjustable or removable. Hopefully I can resolve this problem because other than this I am pleased with the trousers and think they are excellent value for money.
