Oxford Continental 2.0 Textile Jeans - Black
Customer Product Reviews
Comfort and security
Excellent product. I didn't expect to get a lined product and with a removable liner also, but the fit is impeccable with and without the liner. I live in the middle of France and at this time of year it is very hot so waterproof testing will have to wait but the comfort and flexibility is exceptional.
As I said, can't fault them. Used for a few weeks now in all weathers. Not needed the liner as plenty warm enough on colder days, but still good ventilation when required. Fit seems pretty good. Armour needed adjusting at the knee but now is very comfortable. Would buy these again if I had to.
Value for money
I bought the Montreal Jacket and continental Jacket as a compromise to a returned helmet which could not be replaced with a larger size. After taking care and analyzing the sizing, I was more than pleased with the fit and quality of the product. Saying that, 'Oxford' genuinely have a good name for themselves anyway. I haven't had either of them in the rain yet but I am sure that I will not be left disappointed if other reports are anything to go by. The detachable braces are also good if you are walking around without a jacket and don't want to feel or look restricted. You would struggle to get better for the same money.
First is should say I did send these back as they were too big. They were ordered in the exact same size as another set of Oxford trouser bought at the same time however these were much longer than expected compared to the other set. The knee protectors were shin level even on the bike! That said they are a lovely quality textile trouser, good pockets and nice detailing. Hip protection too which isn't amazing but better than none. I would like to have kept these but the sizing and fit for me just wasn't right. Give them a try because if they fit they are very good value as far as looks and comfort go!
Bought these after much deliberation, an absolute bargain for the price. 38 waist short leg perfect fit for me. Very warm, completely waterproof in really heavy weather, that's on a 240 mile motorway trip. Don't think I can say much more and I don't even work for maker or Sportsbikeshop.
Good but not perfect
I have done 14 hours of riding with these trousers and they kept me fairly warm and completely dry through some very heavy rain. I particularly like the zipped and Velcro leg pockets because you know your phone and wallet are safe and will stay dry. They look good and have reasonable adjustments to get a reasonable fit. I am slim with a 32 inch waist so got the Small initially but had to return them because I could not even get my legs into them (generally I feel the cut of these trousers is a bit tight). The Medium is a bit big at my waist but better elsewhere. The braces are useful in this respect. My main problem is that the knee protectors hurt my knees while I am riding. I've tried to adjust them but they do not appear to be adjustable or removable. Hopefully I can resolve this problem because other than this I am pleased with the trousers and think they are excellent value for money.
Really great trousers
A lot of quality for the money. I got a pair for me and one for one of my buddies, they look great and are warm. There is a removable liner for hotter weather. Braces are fantastic too. Oxford product are brilliant. I got the large short, I am a 36 waist and 31 inch leg. Unless you are 6 foot 4 inches tall get the short not the regular.
Comfortable all day touring
Only had a few days on the bike and non particularly wet but trousers are very comfortable (Medium for my normally 32 inch waist) and practical. Decent pockets and removable thermal liner works well. Zips and Velcro at ankles makes them a good fit even over fairly bulky boots.
Being a larger lady the women's sizes are almost impossible to get the right fit. Opted for men's version to match my jacket. Very comfortable and good fit with the exception of the ridiculously long legs! The top of the knee pads sit just below my knee when I'm stood upright fortunately in riding position they can be maneuvered but it is a pain. I'm quite tall too around 5ft 9 so wouldn't consider myself to have short legs.. Other than that they are outstanding on waterproof front and very warm even with the liner removed! Would recommend but best if there was a try on option.
Assurance of Oxford's
Well these are a top notch pair of textiles. Purchased to replace a pair of Held Goretex trousers and more than happy with these. The removable inner, the air vents and numerous pockets make these trousers incredibly versatile. I found them both comfortable and waterproof on a 200 mile trip. Big plus for me was they matched my Oxford Montreal jacket, and have attaching zips. SBS offer these cheapest online. Thanks for the feedback on sizing and prompt delivery SBS.
My first pair of Textile trousers and were actually an alternative to the Alpinestars Andes. I bought a 34 waist with regular leg as I'm about a 33 waist. There is plenty of room in the waist and if I'm honest I could probably have got away with a 32 waist but I'm happy with the bit of extra room so far. The trouser are super warm and super comfy. Easy to walk around and perfect on the bike. Very glad I bought these. Perfect product. Super waterproof keeping me dry and warm.
This is my first pair of motorcycle textile trousers so unable to compare to any other product. However, they are awesome quality and great fit. The included knee and hip armour / protection is a great addition which are not included with similar price range trousers. Highly recommended and also great service and delivery time from Sportsbikeshop.
