Oxford Continental 2.0 Textile Jeans - Black
Customer Product Reviews
Product is good, tested water-proof while a test ride, no problem. CComfortable and warm, but ventilation is not enough, I am starting to sweat if it's more than 15 degrees. If you are looking something for winter, this should work for you but I think I need something else for summer.
Very warm and waterproof. It's 6 degrees now and they almost make me sweat. I got them in my usual size and they fit well over my normal clothes. The zip attaches well to my Oxford Melbourne jacket. Only downside is that adjusting the knees protection is a bit fiddly.
Really good product. Recommend going a size up, I am a 38" waist, and an XL was a bit tight when sitting, so got an 2XL and it fit great. Thermal lining works great and keeps you REALLY REALLY warm! Had one trip in the pouring rain so far, and it kept me dry on that occasion New to biking, so this is my first pair I have ever bought, and can't fault them yet Additionally, great service from Sportsbikeshop, when I needed to return the smaller size.. no hassle and refund came through quickly..
They fit great
I've got about a 28" inseam so I opted for the "short" version; in that regard they fit great. I had to spend quite a bit of time adjusting the knee pads to fit properly as it appears the trousers are exactly the same as the regular ones, minus a couple of inches off the bottom; this means that the knee pads sit on my shins. there is a gap between the outer and waterproof layer at the foot end of the trousers which allows you to reach in and adjust the Velcro-attached knee pads.
Great trousers, great service
After 3 retailers and 4 pairs of water proof trousers I finally bought a pair that keep me dry and are comfortable to wear on the bike. As a result of 40 years daily cycling I struggle to find trousers to fit. I rang Sportsbikeshop for advice and they were helpful and knowledgeable. The Oxford continental trousers are a great fit and I can now confirm after 40 miles in heavy rain they are waterproof. Also the cheapest pair I tried. All good.
Great quality products, fatastic customer service
I purchased these Oxford Continental Jeans as a birthday gift for my boyfriend. The quality of the product is fantastic & they're a comfortable fit. Too early to tell how they respond to wet weather, however overall very pleased with the garment. I also purchased a matching jacket, although it was too snug fitting. The returns policy is so straight forward, completely hassle free! I just love purchasing from Sportsbikeshop - I can't recommend them enough!
Fine so far
Have worn them only once, and that was in the dry. However, I have an Oxford Jacket of similar construction/price range and this is waterproof, comfortable and practical. I've no reason to believe that the trousers will perform less well.
Feature laden value
Very impressed with these Jeans so far. Fit well. Four good-sized pockets. Worked well in motorway rain - I stayed dry and so did the contents of the pockets. Very warm even though I am using with the lining removed and the vents zipped open. Not tested the crash protection (so cannot rate at 5 star) yet but seems as good as any. Will zip to my Triumph jacket. Love the braces and back panel - protects me from draughts around the waist and back. For the price, an outstanding piece of equipment.
Comfortable but sweaty
First pair delivered were faulty and were returned. Second pair are comfortable and seem quite robust. I've improved them by adding CE hip armour as the supplied protection was flimsy. Not tested in heavy weather yet but dealt with average rain pretty well. Let down by the poor breathability of the waterproof membrane.
Really great value product in terms of quality for price paid. Makes the textile trousers I'm retiring look & feel Jurassic in comparison. Design is 'fit for purpose' and build quality is reassuringly high. Would recommend to everyone for regular day-to-day use and Euro tours. Great service from Sportsbikeshop.
Great all round
Leg pockets big enough for wallet keys and phone, upper pockets rather tight for a modern smartphone whilst riding the bike. Used in fairly heavy rain for an hour and legs never got wet. Knee pads felt rather thin but after an unintentional crash test with a thick branch they saved my knee from a serious injury. Surprisingly good fit for my 30cm legs. Be careful with the crotch zip as I very easily pulled it off. Could have been a dodgy pair but Sportsbike shop quickly replaced with no issues. Would highly recommend.
