Oxford Continental 2.0 Textile Jeans - Black
Customer Product Reviews
Warm & comfortable
Tried out on a 44 mile run in the cold today and were comfortable when sitting on the bike and kept me warm with the lining in place. Easy to put on and take off but not sure what they would be like if walking once off the bike but seem to be OK and can be zipped to Oxford jacket or can be used with supplied braces.
Comfortable, warm and
After reading the reviews for these jeans I wasn't disappointed at all. They are comfortable, warm and did not let any cold air in anywhere whilst gunning it on the bike on a cold winter's morning.. Easy to put on and easy to walk around in if that matters to you. The Velcro straps dotted around the jeans allow easy access but also to 'customise' their fit. Can be worn as trousers or with the removable shoulder braces to keep them up if they're just slightly too big. I haven't worn them in wet weather yet and so cannot comment on their waterproofing. The only negative comment I would say is the fiddly velcro strap at the front of the jeans (where a belt buckle would be). There is a clasp which is very difficult to do up/undo considering the velcro near enough prevents you from undoing the jeans by unhooking the clasp.
Warmer than expected
Really comfortable, especially around the crotch. Wore them when it was about 5 deg and they kept my legs warm. Not had them out in the rain yet so can't comment on how waterproof they are. Easy to get boot on due to the large zip and velcro strap access at the foot. Also come with over the shoulder removable braces.
New trousers after 15 years
A good fit and a perfect match for my Oxford jacket. I don't change for no reason. I expect another 15 years from these. They are a good fit, my only criticism would be the same as most motorcycle trousers, going to the toilet is never easy. Good quality for the price, I would recommend these.
Excellent value for the money
I have worn these in some fairly wet and cold weather so far and I still haven't been able to put the thermal leggings in them. I bought these sight unseen following recommendations and for me the fit is fine and very comfy once on the bike, but they are very warm to wear with light office trousers underneath, definitely not for warmer weather over 10 degrees or queuing in the shops.
Product is good, tested water-proof while a test ride, no problem. CComfortable and warm, but ventilation is not enough, I am starting to sweat if it's more than 15 degrees. If you are looking something for winter, this should work for you but I think I need something else for summer.
Very warm and waterproof. It's 6 degrees now and they almost make me sweat. I got them in my usual size and they fit well over my normal clothes. The zip attaches well to my Oxford Melbourne jacket. Only downside is that adjusting the knees protection is a bit fiddly.
Really good product. Recommend going a size up, I am a 38" waist, and an XL was a bit tight when sitting, so got an 2XL and it fit great. Thermal lining works great and keeps you REALLY REALLY warm! Had one trip in the pouring rain so far, and it kept me dry on that occasion New to biking, so this is my first pair I have ever bought, and can't fault them yet Additionally, great service from Sportsbikeshop, when I needed to return the smaller size.. no hassle and refund came through quickly..
They fit great
I've got about a 28" inseam so I opted for the "short" version; in that regard they fit great. I had to spend quite a bit of time adjusting the knee pads to fit properly as it appears the trousers are exactly the same as the regular ones, minus a couple of inches off the bottom; this means that the knee pads sit on my shins. there is a gap between the outer and waterproof layer at the foot end of the trousers which allows you to reach in and adjust the Velcro-attached knee pads.
Great trousers, great service
After 3 retailers and 4 pairs of water proof trousers I finally bought a pair that keep me dry and are comfortable to wear on the bike. As a result of 40 years daily cycling I struggle to find trousers to fit. I rang Sportsbikeshop for advice and they were helpful and knowledgeable. The Oxford continental trousers are a great fit and I can now confirm after 40 miles in heavy rain they are waterproof. Also the cheapest pair I tried. All good.
