Roof Boxer V8 Bond - Matt Titanium / Black
Customer Product Reviews
Coolest out there by far
Fancied a change after 15 years with Arai's. This caught my eye for obvious reasons. I went for the Matt Titanium Black and Silver Visor. Together they look the mutts. I read a few conflicting reviews about the fit, but it fitted me perfectly going on the size guide, and it's very comfortable to boot. After 3 months riding, only issue I would have to raise is the noise, but no noisier than my Arai's, earplugs sort that. Visor operation is easy enough once you get used to having the 'button' at the top. Point to note here, the Silver Visor will fog up when stationary, I have yet to find a Anti Fog that fits due to its close proximity to the seal during open and closing. You'll have to have the flip front fully open to get it on and off, not much of an issue, and the flip operation takes a bit to get used to it if you've never used one before, it becomes second nature soon enough. Buckle requires a positive touch, (big fingers), not necessarily a bad thing of course, but secured it's faultless. So far construction and quality seem superb, just make sure you register the lid with Roof.fr for the extended warranty of 4 years. Overall, very pleased, and it looks cool as with a Union Jack Buff when riding flipped open.
I have always wanted a roof helmet I looked around but got it from sports bike shop good price good service from them. All I can say is its a very good helmet and very comfortable. Not tried it in the rain yet but when I do I will write and post a new review.
Stylish and versatile helmet
After searching around for a stylish helmet to suit my new motorcycle(Triumph Bonneville bobber black). I opted for a blast from the past and am not disappointed. The improvements are exactly that, having had a boxer back in the day when they first came out. Preferring to ride open face whenever possible but with the versatility of a full face helmet when required. Perfect option for that muscle/street fighter style. Would recommend to anyone.
This is my second Roof Boxer, I had one of the first models years ago. They must have definitely listened to the feed back as all the problems I had first time round are gone. The biggest problem being the chin bar fasteners. They used to be a popper that always snapped meaning the whole chin had to be replaced. Now they are push to release. It's still quite a noisy helmet for wind, but with earplugs it's not an issue. Most importantly, it looks awesome.
Great Fit and very quiet
Bought it on sale as I've fancied a roof for quite some time. Ordered on a Fri afternoon had it delivered to Ireland by 10am Tues, This is a great quality helmet at a super price and a delivery service second to none. This purchase is probably the best internet buying experience I've had,I will be recommending Sportsbikeshop to all my mates.
Great helmet and great service
Ordered it as it was on sale, had a 4 star Sharp rating and looked great. It arrived the next day at no extra cost, with plenty of advanced notice from the couriers. It fits perfectly, feels safe and is easy to use when retracting the face protection. A little noisy at speed, but not deafening, and certainly nothing out of the ordinary for a flip front! Couldn't be happier as it looks awesome and does the job!
Stunning looking helmet
OK lets be honest about the Roof Boxer V8, This helmet is mostly about the look which is fantastic and when paired with the mirrored visor looks totally si-fi. On the plus side it is very comfortable to wear with a good fit. The shell and materials feel really high quality and the finish is excellent. On the minus side it's not the quietest helmet and I use ear plugs when riding any distance. The chin bar closure can be a bit fiddly and the snap fasting needs to be correctly aligned to lock into place. Also visors are OK to change but not quick & requires a screw driver. I really enjoy the Boxer's flexibility to have it open or closed. I must say that this is used as my 2nd helmet for nice sunny days when you fancy a bit more of a relaxed ride. Great for riding around town with the chin bar back and I like that it can be down for for more brisk journeys. The venting is OK but can allow insect debris and other particles to pass occasionally. Overall this is a really good product for what I want, but if you're looking at this as an all year round all weather helmet then you might want to think carefully before buying. I love the aggressive streefighter styling and am very happy with the product.
Not used it on the road yet (poorly bike), but have worn it round the house and it is comfortable and the ability to wear it as an open face is useful when drinking tea or eating my dinner. Love the really accessible rocker clips that undo the chin bar. The colour scheme is great, as I have a jacket with loads of orange and black and now can complete my orange power ranger look. I like a convertible lid that can be worn open face when moving (which isn't all of them), as the increased visibility and comfort when stuck in the city on a hot day is so nice. The quality of the lid is great. GRP rather than thermo-plastic just tangibly feels nicer. It makes all the openings, visor movement etc feel better quality. Love the fighter pilot look of the Roof as well, as they're a quality brand and therefore credible, not just a low priced gimmick.
Love the helmet
I have had the helmet over a week now and have done a 200 mile round trip to Kent and helmet has been excellent. Comfortable quiet good visibility light and seems stable in the wind. As a plus everyone says it looks very cool. Very pleased with the purchase.
Tried it on at the shop. Was a little worried it was going to be noisy, but I've found it much quieter than my other full face helmet. It's comfy, easy to use even with gloves on. Only thing for me is the top vent seems to have no effect at all, but ventilation is fine anyway.
Very good helmet. My only two problems are: 1) I don't know if it's the shape of my head, but air moves over my ears inside the helmet, which is OK unless it's cold 2) The chin bar can feel slightly heavy when you have it over on the back of the helmet Apart from those it's still an excellent helmet and looks cool!
