Knox All Sports Jacket - Grey / Black
Customer Product Reviews
Great for the rain
This has become my go-to jacket for the rain. Really good overall, but I do feel the vents at the top don't bring much air, and the detachable wrist thing comes off a little too easily since it's kept in with small buttons. I'd still buy it again even with my pet peeves. Size chart on the site is accurate but if you're not sure just remember there's a zip under the arms to adjust size for arms and waist
Lovely jacket, let down by the odd detail or two
This is a smart and comfortable jacket with plenty of features that make it very versatile. I bought it as a summer jacket for shorter trips rather than as a four-season garment. For that (and I do a lot of low single-digit riding), you would need to tog up with quite a bit of base and mid-layering as this has no thermal lining. It is windproof, though. However, there's a couple of points that you need to note. As a previous reviewer noted, "there's a lot going on around the cuffs with the duel fit zip system and the winter cuff inserts". In fact, there's so much going on that I for one cannot use the adjusting tab because the tab has to go across the zip on the inside of the arm to connect to the poppers. Even with the winter cuff inserts removed, the inside of the cuff gets very compressed and untidy if you try to tighten it up. This is because the zip, which is there for the commendable purpose of accommodating an armoured undershirt, is quite substantial. Note that this jacket has no armour, it is meant to be worn with a separate shirt. Knox make their own, obviously, but I imagine that the Forcefield sport shirts would also do the job. As another reviewer has noted, the sizing is not entirely what you might expect. I have tried various Knox jackets on and have noted that my usual medium size is fine around the chest and shoulders but the sleeves are too short. I thus went for the larger version and the sleeves are perfect and the rest of the jacket is fine too, albeit a tad looser than what I normally go for. With an armoured undershirt it will be fine. Note also that the zips are stiffer than on other manufacturers' garments with which I am familiar, but they are watertight (outside chest pockets) and robust. All in all, very pleased.
Good quality jacket, but very odd sizing
As always the quality and finish of the Knox gear is indisputably good. The jacket looks really smart, a great modern classic look, without all the reflective and velcro bits that are all too common. But the sizing is tailored to a much shorter person than myself. I'm tall and slim (6'1", 40" chest, 30" waist, ordered a size Medium). The shoulders were to narrow and the sleeves were far too short. There's a lot going on around the cuffs with the duel fit zip system and the winter cuff inserts, but I'm sure it would've been a good jacket if the fit was better.
This jacket would pass for a top of the line fashion jacket when off the bike. Looks fantastic. Really strong material and easy to move around in. Zips are the strong YKK type and pocket zips are rubberized storm ones. The fit of the jacket is perfect, I was able to fit the Knox armour jacket under the sleeves without unzipping the entire 'extra room' system. So there's plenty of room for other layers if you wanted to add more. The neck material is soft and has an option to put a hood on to the buttons. Haven't tested the waterproof qualities but the material looks so good I think I'll have no problems. Overall a 5 star jacket. Pleasantly surprised.
