Resurgence Pekev Cruiser Cargo Jeans - Green
Customer Product Reviews
Good quality, but a bit on the heavy side!
These are well made and as soon as you remove them from the packaging you can see that they are well mad and to a high standard. if I had one gripe, it would be the weight, you notice this when you remove them and hold them in one hand, that said they are build to protect you and that is worth putting up with. the trousers are very comfortable to wear and the zips and studs are very good quality. I would recommend.
Brilliant quality and fantastic service
Very good quality and fitting pants, they feel heavyweight yet look fine on, and you don't notice the weight once on either, they feel more protective than most alternatives out there too. Fantastic next day service from sbs too.
Solid quality pants
To start with the positives: - Great looking pants. It does not look / feel too bulky, while beingolidly built pants, with reassuringly strong materials. Really convenient front pocket for the Knees pads allowing them to be easily removed without taking off the pants (in case you want to get off the bike and go for a quick walk). Good quality hip protection also. It's thick fabric, so not sure how hot it could get in the summer, but I would assume that base layers could help managing the heat. On the negatives - just one watchout (that explains the 4 stars review, rather than 5) - the sizing is quite off. It took me 4 tries to find the pair that actually fits. My observations are - I'm a 32-34 in legs length, which corresponds to their REGULAR (LONG is too long). Waist size - I'm usually a 34-36 and I had to go to a 38 here. 36 was too tight and while the 38 is comfortable enough, it is now a bit too loose. So I bought iXS Mewis Braces to make sure they stay on in case of a slide.... Overall I'm happy with my purchase - these are really good pants (once you get the right sizing). And as usual - amazing service for Sprotsbikeshop who have been very patient and serviable throughout the process.
Really nice !
Normally I will always try and buy only Dainese, I am brand loyal and believe in their quality and protection. For the pants I had to try these Resurgence as they are CE level 2 rated. I'm really glad I did give them a go as they are made extremely well, are very protective and look n feel great. I feel like I could crash in them and be protected, hope this never happens of course. The fit is nice and long in the leg with plenty covering the half summer boots I were. SBS service is amazing as always, faultless. Big thumbs up !
Bought the cargo pants for a trip up through Northern Cape and Namibia later in the year. Bit of a pain getting them to South Africa from the Argus motorcycle Mecca. Light they are not as postman pat charged a small fourtune for delivery. Worth every penny (they were on special) absolutely. I'll be the best dressed biker lifting my old twin up out of the Namibian sand
Heavy trousers and better than average wind proofing. Once on, the weight seems to be much less obvious. ' Old school ' abrasion resistance versus single layer, lighter weight products. Sizes seem to be variable as I have a comfortable 36 in black but had to exchange a green for a 38. Particularly good value at sale price.
Heavy but comfortable and safe, great for summer!
These are heavy thanks to the heavyduty construction and safety build in. I always wear with a thin wicking under layer and these are great for hot dry days as they stay cool yet keep you completely protected. Hip and knee D3O was supplied. Nice thick material which washes easily and can be tumble-dried (I prefer to line dry). Due to the colour, gets dirty easily and any oil will show, but they do was nicely and look great again. Great addition for summer.
Quality is first rate. They look like 'normal' chinos/jeans and feel really comfortable when wearing them, both on and off the bike. Really heavy! ... probably best to wear a belt, but you soon get used to this as it gives you confidence in their ability to protect, and you don't sweat in warm weather anything like you do in textile uncomfortable waterproofs. Not 5/5 for one reason only; they are not waterproof, they don't say they are but for the money they probably should be! They are heavy showerproof though for about 20 mins in rain because I washed them in TX Direct! Overall they are great!
Very comfortable and look really good quality. Bought for fortnight through France on bike in August so will be well tested then. Wanted something more substantial than normal Levis I wear and wanted protection built in. These are just the job. Trying on and wearing around the house they feel really nice. They are a snug fit so don't chance the smaller size if you are between sizes. Looking forward to my long trip wearing them. The thickness might feel warm in the sun but I feel confident if the worst were to happen these would do the best possible job.
Worth every penny
Could not fault the quality of these jeans. I am short in the leg and have always found it difficult to get biking trousers that not only are the right length but the knee pads so are in the right place. On top of all that they look good as well.
Pricey, but worth it
My old jeans had were wearing out. I wanted something abrasion resistant and these got a good rating. I ride every day, so I figured I could justify the price. Very comfortable with a 'hefty' feel that I really like. Also pads in the hips and knees. The cargo pockets could be an inch bigger (for my mobile), but that's a really minor niggle. Haven't had a chance to test the water resistance yet. Worth the price.
Look good, great protection
Really well thought out pair of trousers. I've worn them a couple of times now and find them very comfortable - far more breathable than leather but still keep me warm. No heel strap on these but there is Velcro adjustment at the end of each leg. Pockets for knee protectors is accessed from the outside of the trousers via a zip, so very easy to take in and out for washing. Hip protector pockets accessed from inside. These don't look like motorcycle trousers even with the protectors in. Neat.
Expensive but top quality
I looked at various cargo pants and nearly went with an alternative top brand for much less. When compared from a protection view point though, the others don't come close. The Resurgence are in a different league and also very comfortable. I can get them over my Daytona's. It is a tight fit, but I think that's intended.
Very expensive, slightly disappointing
Despite the blurb saying I wouldn't be disappointed, I was, slightly. Mostly because they don't fit over any of my adventure/street riding boots, (W2's, Supertech R's), they only fit over my Lowa's, which are a military hiking boot, so a bit of a limitation there. I tried wearing them inside boots, but the Velcro tab on hem causes pressure on ankle and they look faintly ridiculous tucked in, like a paramilitary wannabe. If you don't want to look like a biker off the bike, this aspect puts paid to that. I was surprised by their weight, 2.2kg (4.9lbs) on my luggage scales; consequently, they are very hot when off the bike and they remind me of combat winter thermal trousers in this respect. Still, 10 seconds of being able to slide down the road is not to be sniffed at, just don't expect the same for your feet and ankles now they've lost their protection by wearing these. They are very well made, have excellent pockets, and I love the ability to take out the knee pads whilst wearing them. This does cut down on some of the heat whilst off the bike, which is a necessity in the warmer months. I feel Resurgence need to offer a version that's a bit wider in the lower leg for those who wear bike boots with bulkier shin protection. I'm not suggesting that they need to fit over full-on off road/mx boots like my Sidi Crossfire, but some accommodation would be of benefit.
Heavy duty & then some
These are beautifully crafted & well thought out motorcycle cargo trousers, obviously designed by a rider. Great fit& length with remove able knee & hip protectors. Decent sized pockets & the side ones are zipped & poppered. Trousers fully lined & snug. Don't yet know about ability to repel water, but suspect they might. However they are reassuringly heavy & for comfort you will need braces ( as well as a belt for multi tools etc) So if you order a pair ( which you won't regret), order HD braces at the same time.
