Draggin Twista Aramid Jeans - Black
Customer Product Reviews
These are so much more comfortable to wear than even my day-to-day jeans. They are long in the leg, but can be turned up by somebody that can sew. Well worth the money, can't say anything about how they perform in a slide as don't intend to test this aspect anytime soon.
Faded Jeans after only a week.
This is my second pair of these jeans in black, although I would expect some fading after a few washes, the thigh/upper leg area faded to a dirty brown colour after only a weeks wear. The jeans are very thick and heavy, not really suitable for warm summer riding. Very disappointing considering the excessive price. I'll be contacting Customer Services to discuss.
I bought 2 pairs
These are a really slim fit but still let you move plenty on the bike. They look great, just like normal jeans. I'm about 6ft and the length is perfect. I was unlucky enough to have a highside off my bike a month ago, landed on my butt/back and slid/rolled across the road, and these stopped me getting a nasty road rash at the bottom of my back. The denim ripped straight through but the Kevlar looked untouched. I ordered a new pair the next day, brilliant bit of kit.
Fantastic jeans, no outer seams makes it look like a regular pair of jeans, I've had a few people ask why I'm not wearing Kevlar at the least. It's just that extra bit of confidence that I can change into some trainers and eat out or whatever without looking like I have bike jeans on.
Good jeans - just too long
The Draggin jeans are pretty good, excellent Kevlar lining and the slimmer fit is better than the usual huge protective jeans. However, they come in a 34 inch length which needs to be taken up if you're shorter. I've had mine taken up to 31 inches - the only issue is that the knee armour sits around my shins because of where the pockets are located. This would be fine for someone with long legs, but not shorter.
Really good quality
I wanted some black jeans to wear instead of all the blue biker jeans I seem to have accumulated over the years. These are really good quality, and nicely slim fitting. Wearing them around the house my wife didn't think they looked like motorcycle jeans, which is what I wanted. I measure a 34" waist, and 5' 8" tall and after reading all reviews that I could find I ordered the 32". They are quite tight, but they have plenty of stretch and give to them so reasoned that a larger size might flap around too much and I already had plenty of other bike jeans that did that so decided to keep them. The armour supplied I found was too bulky though so I fitted some Hein Gericke Hiprotec armour instead, which works great. I tried some D30 inserts too which worked fine but kept slipping down. The Draggin' sew-in Hip Armour looks a good idea as there aren't any pockets for inserts, but these jeans are so close fitting on me that I don't really have room for them. I also had to have them taken up professionally as the 34" hem length was way too long for my short pins. Overall I really like them and they are the best looking Black jeans that I have tried - and I pretty much tried them all!
Having searched for a pair of motorcycle jeans for quite sometime, I was relieved to come across a pair that pretty much ticked all the boxes! I wanted a pair that looked as close as possible to regular, slim fitting dark blue/indigo jeans - these certainly meet that criteria! The denim is soft with a slight stretch and a comfortable mesh lining that runs the entire length of the Jean. The Kevlar panels (which are pretty large covering your backside, hips and knees) are sat behind this lining so your skin is not exposed to the Kevlar material. The supplied knee armour is flexible enough that once easily fitted into the pockets within the lining, it stays in place and is comfortable once sat in the riding position. My only criticisms are (bare in mind these are just personal) that the jeans are quite warm in summer weather although no warmer than leathers! I would also personally have liked the internal mesh lining to finish about shin height, so that when turned up they would give a more traditional look. Overall - great jeans with a high level of quality throughout, and a nice classic slim fit.
Surprisingly comfortable, and definitely feel like they would hold up in a slide. Will also keep your legs warmer than a usual pair of jeans. The free knee armour is a bit awkward to get used to but I'm glad it's there - extra piece of mind. Although these are no 'skinny' fit they are slimmer than most Kevlar jeans. You probably wont find any skinnier ones that offer this level of protection. The leg length is way too long and from what I see it is the same regardless of waist size. This is a shame but can be resolved by rolling them up or tucking them into your boots. Very happy with them.
The best so far
I have tried other jeans with Kevlar, but have been disappointed with the fit, styling and quality of the denim. These Draggin twists tick nearly all the boxes, great denim, nice tight fit, but stretchy for ease of movement and a good lining for comfort and plenty of Kevlar. The only thing I would ask for is pockets for hip protection, apart from that an excellent jean and worth every penny.
They look like ordinary jeans
Really pleased with them and the free knee armour. They are a much better fit and much better looking than any other Kevlar jeans (including other Draggin jeans) I have had or seen. Very comfortable too, although I suppose they will be warm in the summer - I haven't ridden them in hot sun yet. The leg length is enormous and you will need to have them taken up to fit properly unless you are very tall. Have this done professionally.
Expensive and the provided knee protection is awkward but the jeans themselves are superb, very well made and are supposed to offer the highest levels of abrasion resistance of any jean. After reading these were a close fit I ordered 34 but swapped for 32 (I am usually between these sizes) so I would say do not go up a size. The denim has a stretch to it which makes the jeans very comfortable to wear but too loose at the waist if you get the sizing wrong. I am tall and thin and the long leg length and thinner cut is perfect for me. I don't think any other bike jean would fit so well if you are tall and thin. They are not super skinny (as they look in the picture) and you would never get knee protection in them if they were, but still not too baggy. Look good. They don't ride up over my boots on the bike. They look like normal jeans off the bike.
Not so skinny
First off, if you buy a pair of these please get a size up. I am a 30inch waist and the 32 I ordered is a close fit. There is no way the 30 would have. Second, I am 5'9 slim build 159 pounds. They claim to be a tight fitting Jean. In reality they are not, but still a better fitting Jean than all the other men's Kevlar jeans out there (apart from the length). The leg length is massive, 34 inches I believe. Maybe if you don't have sparrow legs like me and you have got long legs, you might just like these, as the quality of them is really really good. They are very comfortable and the colour of the denim is darker than that on the picture, which I like. I kept them and had them turned up by a seamstress.
Good fit, proper jean look
If, like me, you don't want a pair of motorbike jeans, which look like motorbike jeans, these jeans are excellent. They are a nice slim fit (not ridiculously wide around the boot like the Draggin Traffic jeans I have owned previously) and don't have any of the annoying seams/stitching on the outside of the jeans. They are obviously thicker than normal jeans, so they can get a bit warm if its a hot day and you're sitting around, but I have found them excellent for riding/wearing off the bike. They feel really safe on the bike. The Kevlar lining covers most of the jeans and feels a really good quality like all Draggin jeans do. An excellent product, highly recommended to those who are skinnier!
