Alpinestars Monty Shoe - Brown
Customer Product Reviews
Comfortable and good looking
Tried a few options before I settled on these. Can be worn on an off the bike and protection specs give confidence in safety. A little bit of a mare getting them on and off but this has got better over time. Very happy with purchase. Look great on my cafe racer.
Really impressed and pleased with my purchase
I bought these as a smart casual office wear alternative to having to carry a pair of shoes with me each time I take advantage of the good weather and ride to work. I didn't expect miracles to be honest and wasn't looking forward to breaking them in. I've got to say there wasn't really any break in required, when you first put them on they feel a little stiff each time but within ten minutes or so they soften up as they warm with your body heat. I actually forgot I was wearing them and although it did feel a little alien riding with a short boot at first, they find the controls easily without any clumsiness. The ankles have a comfortable yet obvious impact protector which gives some reassurance that if I had an off I would have some decent protection. There's no denying they won't offer the same levels of protection that you get with a more technical full height boot but its a trade off I'm willing to make for the convenience of not having to lug a pair of shoes around with my laptop and other essentials in a backpack. My only real regret is not buying something like this a few seasons ago as I would have saved so much faffing around if I had and would have probably got a good few more sunny rides in.
Perfect for everyday use!
The boots feel very robust with good support around the ankle. The boots are light weight and look great with a pair of motorcycle jeans perfect for everyday urban riding. I recommend getting a size up from your original shoe size, in my opinion it's a very slim line boot and can feel quite tight especially with a thick pair of socks. Overall once happy with the desired size every other aspect of the boots I loved. Stylish, strong and blend in with an everyday pair of boots!
So far so good. Quality is exactly what I'd expect from alpinestars and is in line with all their other products I have. The comfort of the boot is fantastic. I bought these boots to save some expensive non-riding boots I've been wearing for a while now and I'm gutted I didn't buy them earlier.
Really pleased with them - comfortable, look good (a bit pork pie which is no bad thing). The leather is great quality, firm sole and good ankle support. A nice big tag on the back so you can pull them on easily. Whats not to like. Good service from Sportsbikeshop with quick delivery.
These boots are obviously very well made. They take a while to break in and become very comfortable and the fabric on the inside of the boot can make it very difficult to put them on and remove if you don't undo the laces fully. These boots are not waterproof! Water will definitely come in through the seems so be warned. They do seem like they will survive just about anything, including time.
Comfy out of the box and a true size 44. The tan colour is nicer in person. As Rob said, they mark really easy from the gear lever. These come with a foam pad under the leather for the gear lever so this is a nice touch. For me...I'm not sure about the lack of shifter pad, I just can't get used to the big black mark on my boot but I seem to find it OK if there's a pad there for some reason! The ankle protection doesn't quite line up on me but should still do it's job. Better than average design but not great.
Great straight out of the box. Not worn a lot on the bike and gear change rubber has left it's mark, but they should clean up OK. Very easy to wear walking around and a nice comfortable fit. As they're leather you can treat them to ensure they're waterproof. Looking forward to more time on the bike. Good buy.
