MT Synchrony DS SV Tourer - Matt Green / Black
Customer Product Reviews

Fantastic
This helmet is perfect and fits well... looks great with the rest of my gear which I also bought from Sportsbikeshop, I highly recommend this helmet especially if you want the adventurous look. The internal sun visor works well as does the main visor in conjunction with the detachable visor, been riding in both sunshine and heavy rain and my vision wasn't affected, air flow is ample so no misting even when you get a little wet or hot. Big thumbs up.
Good Helmet but needs a Chinguard
Good helmet for the price, great field of vision and great for glasses wearers. As mentioned in other reviews it fogs up easily. Another criticism is that because it has no inside chinguard there is a lot of draught over my eyes, I made my own chinguard and this problem is now sorted.
Amazing !
I tried out 4 other ADV helmets before opting for the MT Synchrony. It's light but still feels robust. It fits me incredibly well with padding in all the right places. The width of the visor offers an amazing clear view of the surroundings which allows you a more relaxing ride and the drop down sun visor is not only very useful it is also very cool. The visor and click fastener strap are easily operated even with gloves on. Combine all this with the incredible styling and you have what I consider to be the perfect crash helmet.
Excellent value adventure style helmet
Wanted to try a peaked helmet for myself to dispel some negatives regarding peaks catching wind and noise. Used for 1st time this weekend up to motorway speeds no buffeting no jerks when doing safety checks great field of vision bit noisy without ear plugs but bearable with. Pity no Pinlock but for the sale price of £60 cant complain looks more expensive than it is. Would recommend to anyone wanting a second helmet or for summer use one thing to bear in mind the only vent you can close is on the chin the others are open I have covered the 2 vents above visor with some vinyl carbon wrap. I also got the helmet in white, my mates who I was with at the weekend commented on how visible I stood out when they were at the back of the group result. *****
Good value for money
Nice helmet. I am very happy with the purchase. Soft padding inside, sun and wind shield.. a bit heavier but alright in this price range. Only think that worries me a bit is a little plastic holding front padding in a place. It seems so close to my forehead and I am not so convinced it would not touch my head in case of an accident. Probably I am being just a bit paranoid. Helmet is EU certified therefore there should be no problem. Good buy.
Quality of this helmet is second to none
I brought this for my partner, for his birthday, I ordered one which was too small, but the return service was excellent. It only took a week for me to return the helmet and receive the replacement. When I ordered it, it was here the next day. Service fantastic. The quality of this helmet is second to none my partner has informed me.
Fantastic value - with some sacrifices
I think 4.5 would be more accurate. As reference I usually buy sports full face helmets around the £200-220 mark. I have owned a few Shoei and Arai helmets too. I have been riding sports bikes for over 20 years. This MT is my first dabble into an adventure helmet. Its amazing quality for the money. The inners feel strong and high quality. It fits together very nicely and I find it very comfortable. Padding is harder than top of the range helmets, but I like the harder padding, it definitely feels durable and well made. It does come up a bit smaller but bedded in very nicely. When removing the padding to fit my Sena wiring, the padding was very firmly in place and held in very well by its connectors. Probably the most secure padding I have had in any helmet. The outer shell feels very well made as well. Its bigger than sports full face helmets, but that's probably the style rather than the manufacturer. As a package it feels like a £200 helmet. Easily comparable to any helmet around that price mark and likely to be preferred by many riders. The field of vision is fantastic (reason I wanted to try an adventure helmet). The sun visor works well but is close to your nose (which I actually like). I agree with other reviews that if you have a longer nose it would probably rub. The top peak visor does cause your head to wobble a bit with wind drag over about 70mph. It can be removed but the helmet looks unfinished with it off, although I do prefer it removed. The visor steams up VERY easily... Anything under 40 mph and I ride with it open, regardless of the weather. Pinlock would be very welcomed. Also the visor, although is sturdy opening and closing, doesn't sit tight across the seal along the bottom. Makes this helmet very noisy. I haven't had the chance to use this helmet in summer yet, so I can't accurately comment on the venting. At the moment it seems to do an OK job, but I do think it may be sweaty in the summer (however I could be wrong!). The vents seem to run air more at the back of the head than the top. Time will tell. Its definitely worth the money and I would buy it again without question. Fantastically build and far better quality than you'd expect, if you can live with the fogging and noise. I have had the helmet about a month and have been riding through winter every other day. I have done a few longer trips (2/3 hours at a time) and so far it's looking brand new. I'm interested to see how it holds up long term, but for £60 I wouldn't begrudge it only lasting a year and would still think it would be great value. I honestly I'm expecting it to last the same as a normal helmet judging the quality it appears to be.
Solid riding helmet
This product is excellent for people who want a more wider field of view when they are out and about. The padding inside is very comfortable and made to a high quality. Only point to nip pick at is that the helmet does fog up now and again, however this helmet is an excellent product.
Quality helmet, bargain price
Firstly I got this on sale so made the helmet for an absolute bargain. I got it for commuting as a cheap an cheerful helmet just to wear to and from work. This is my first MT helmet and it wont be the last. Quality of the material used is very high and even at full price you would think it was a helmet that should command a higher price. It is comparable to the more expensive HJC and Shark equivalents (which I have owned in the past). You get a great view from this helmet due to the visor size. Its dead comfortable from the off. There is no provision for a Pinlock which is a pain on a cold morning, especially at traffic lights. I thought it was possible to remove the Peak, but you cannot as it holds the visor on. All in all a pretty good helmet for the price with a few small niggles which are in no way deal breakers.
Excellent helmet for the price
I bought this helmet as a cheapie for my Vietnam trip. I was very surprised with the quality and safety ratings for a £60 lid. The fit is a bit tighter than a normal Medium but after wearing it in the house for about an hour, it bedded in nicely and became very comfortable. I normally wear Arai helmets but this suited my head perfectly for shape and comfort. The materials are all of good quality and you get great all round visibility through the visor. The visor is thicker than normal but clear and no distortions. The sun visor that slides down does come very close to the top of your nose but luckily not in contact to rub on mine. I believe others with bigger noses might be annoyed by this. There is a chin vent but the openings are on the smallish side so I'm not sure if the flow-rate would be adequate in very hot areas. There are 2 vents at the top of the helmet but you can't open or close them. Overall, I'm very pleased with this helmet and at £60, you won't get much better at this price. Thank you Sportsbikeshop for an excellent service once again, highly recommended...!
Solid helmet, good looks, design not so....
This helmet will do the job. I found a few unsatisfying elements though: - The comfort is not ideal, it has pressure points, not disastrous and could get used to, possibly will feel more comfortable with time. - The sun visor only covers the top half of the field of vision. - The visor has a bit of a fiddly action.
Good value but let down by minor design details
For: Sizing spot on (Medium - same as my other helmets) and comfortable fit. Seems to be well made. Good price. Against: Next to useless instructions and therefore no idea how to remove visor and sunshade for cleaning. Sunshade hits my nose when pulled down and fouls my spectacles thus negating one of the main reasons I bought the helmet. This is plain bad design which should have been addressed before helmet design signed off. I'm not a fan of the chin strap ratchet fastener but that is a personal criticism and it does work.
Almost synchrony
Bought this lid as my usual helmet had lost fixing screws twice. I was informed it would be months before I could get replacement screws so I decided to buy a new lid. This was better fit, quality, quieter & cheaper, wish I'd found Sportsbikeshop sooner.
