Spada Intrepid Beam - Matt Black / Orange / Anthracite
Customer Product Reviews
Not really a need but more of a want of a new lid. I've only been wearing it for a week but the noise is a lot less than my current AGV, the build quality feels very good and the overall comfort seems very good too. No major miles done wearing it yet just work and back but if you're going for 'the look' and don't want to spend hundreds then I don't think you could go too far wrong with this lid and Spada themselves seem to have found the area in the market with good quality mid range gear.
Nice value for money
Very nice design graphics extremely visible. Nice visibility screen area with interior sun glasses (a litle hight position). Quite confortable interior. Some wind noise not to much. Nice internal and external closeble chin vents. Unfortunately, this does not happen with the superior ventilations that do not allow to be closed. The seal that supposedly beyond other things should seal the moisture with the visor closed, has the sealing lip interrupted at the top, which allows some drops to enter the helmet dripping from the visor. Unfortunately it is not possible to apply intercoms without changing the interior. Fast closing with ring for fixing very practical. I am generally satisfied with the helmet. Now it's time to test in winter.
For the price it's a great helmet. Fits snuggly, and has an easy strap clasp. The visor is large and clear though a little difficult to open, the tab it a bit small and is a bit slippy with gloves on. I'll be using this helmet for commuting and fun rides. I won't be using it on motorways again for long tips as the shape catches the wind more than a " traditional" round helmet and makes it more difficult to look over my shoulder at higher speeds, 60+. Love it though.
Oddly enough, I love it
I am not a lover of full face helmets and have always had flip fronts, however, as I intend to do some green laning I thought I better had, so, Spada? Why? Well I love their clothing but this helmet is a revelation, light, admittedly snug, but not tight, very cool and comfortable. Follow their size chart, it works. All round I have been converted. I love the space in front of your face and the excellent peripheral vision. Enough said?
Comfy and affordable
Good helmet at a nice price. Pretty comfortable for over an hour of riding, with nice ventilation. Slight fogging on a colder day, but might need a pin lock for the winter. As someone already mentioned the sun visor is optically distorted but not so that it's unusable. For the price I cannot complaint really :)
I brought this helmet because of the peak, the sun visor and quick release. All of which are great and it does what is expected. Surprisingly quiet helmet, generally comfy. I would get a size larger, I am 58cm and large is still pretty snug. Visor is stiff, takes some shifting. Lining material used inside not as smooth as my Spada helmet, but, minor criticisms.
Arrived promptly. I am thrilled with the finish and fit. The visor does not have clicks to provide resistance, friction only. So far have not attempted to ride with it partially open. In rain, there may have been a leak in the seal above the visor allowing a drip inside, but this may have been condensation above the Pinlock lens. I like the ratchet strap closure. Very little room for a Bluetooth headset.
Seriously impressive for the price
Pros: comfortable, very quiet compared to the 3/4 helmet it's replacing, solid build quality, easy and smooth visor and sun visor mechanisms, Pinlock ready, no fogging so far even without the Pinlock insert (now ordered). Cons: sun visor is optically distorted (still more than usable), not a lot of space for intercom speakers, peak doesn't adjust low enough to be effective. Overall: it's early days but I'm very impressed with my new Spada helmet and amazed how quiet it is compared to my HJC IS-33. It punches way above its price point in solid build quality for what is a budget helmet. The internal sun visor, Pinlock ready main visor and dual sport design (I don't like a chin bar too close) were all main purchasing factors as well as the price, under £75! Sportsbikeshop service impeccable as usual.
Excellent value for money, worth every penny
I was looking around for a budget and stylish helmet...then I came across this Spada Intrepid beam. Wow...it blew my mind away. It ticked all the boxes for me. I had many positive comments and feedbacks from friends and family regarding this helmet. I would recommend it to anyone. I give it 5-stars. Also the the quick and quality service from Sportsbikeshop is also 5-star...quick and very well packed. All round it's a win win for me.
Light weight and well made
Very good looking helmet, light weight and well made. Additional tinted internal visor very useful and outer visor closes well for a tight fit. Comfortable to wear, although a snug fit. I had chosen a XL for a 62 cm head. Really pleased with Helmet and exceptional service from Sportsbikeshop. Delivery spot on.
Does everything it says on the tin
I was in the market for a new lid and have always had more mainstream brands. After looking around reading reviews I settled on this one. The sizing for me is spot on, snug at the moment but I'm sure that with more hours it'll bed in. I wear glasses and didn't find it an issue wearing them with this lid. The visor isn't on a ratchet system and only time will tell if it remains as user friendly as it is at the moment. This is my 1st Enduro / Adventure lid and having worn it now it is not that noisy and the peek doesn't cause any issues even at speed. I like the chin strap release it's far more user friendly than other arrangements. Overall I'm very impressed with this lid for the price. I'd be interested to know how it compares with more expensive lids of a similar design. For me though it does the job at a price that doesn't break the bank.
Best price, best service, best fit, best value
Exactly what I was looking for in a supermoto helmet. Excellent fit with great ventilation and quick release buckle. Visor shape gives brilliant visibility and rain shedding ability.
Got this helmet for me in XL but it was a bit tight. I'm normally a Large, I would recommend getting two sizes bigger so I gave the helmet to my 20yr old brother and he loves it and the best customer service compared to the other company's out there A±++++++
