SENA 10S Dual Bluetooth Headset & Intercom
Customer Product Reviews
Just as recommended!
Never had an intercom before and these came highly recommended by a group of friends that ride as a group to Europe. Easy to fit, set up and use! Just followed the fitting instructions, there's even a video on the Sena website if you're more of a watcher then a reader.
Good bit of kit. Some times have difficulty pairing up. And a delay on directions. I also had problems with volume increasing on its own. But as usual SBS were there as usual no arguments off it went and repaired. Fabulous company and team. Thanks to all involved.. Merry Christmas.
Not cheap, but worth every penny.
I thought hard about spending the money to buy this item, it seemed a lot of money compared to the cheap intercoms I've previously used. Ultimately, it turns out that I made the right decision to buy the Sena 10s, the quality is clear to see right out of the box which is packed with all the options needed to enable fitment of the item to any type of helmet. It even includes two types of microphone, Boon or wired, depending if the helmet is a flip or not. Needless to say, the sound quality, intercom or music, is as good as it gets. I now regret hanging on to my previous cheap intercom for so long, not knowing how brilliant it can get with the Sena 10s.
The packaging and the build of the units shouts quality. There are all the fittings you need and lots of spare pads of different sizes for multiple types helmet designs. Once I'd emptied all the different parts out the bags, it was easy to try all the different pads to see which fit best before reassembling the helmet interior. One in a Shoei and the other a Caberg flip where I used the boom microphone. It recommends charging these units first although they work straight out of the box and have been pre-paired already. They work perfectly on the road between 2 bikes and are very clear like talking on your phone. They do disconnect if you lose sight line with each other over say 100m and buildings or hills/humps are between you but reconnect automatically. I doubt you'd get a connection over a mile as stated either but tbh riding in the Peaks District and towns with my partner and her bike, we loved them and never had an issue with range. The other plus is that these lasted our ride outs of 6+ hours with much talking without needing charging at all and would no doubt go much longer. The only issue I had was that the sticky pad to mount the coms unit to the helmet wasn't very good and came away. I used a GoPro pad instead and that was perfect for the job. There is a mechanical clamp supplied too but that will only fit certain helmets and not one with a fixed neck padding. I will buy another to replace the AGV one in another helmet as 1 it won't pair with it and 2 it's far superior in any case!
Ok so they are not cheap but we needed a good set a I've just started riding solo and hubby wants to keep tabs on me for now and give me pointers where required. These are crystal clear, come already paired, fit for ear piece in the helmet is good, easy to fit full stop. They also work great with our i phones and with our sat nav on the bike.
High Quality Headset
Good intercom and headset- bought to replace a Scala set. Intercom quality is very good - used on 2 x full face helmets - using the wired mics. Hands free from phone also good. Only 4 stars instead of 5 - as instructions are not clear - and intercoms don't always 'pair' automatically.
We needed a pair of Bluetooths to replace our old Autocom radio system . We use them mainly for bike to bike so we don't need a lot of the other functionality of mobiles and FM radio although it's good to have it. Good crisp intercom provided you have line of sight between bikes. Happy with the purchase and as always Sportsbikeshop are very competitive.
Excellent workhorse but fallible
Maiden trip using this model of Sena. Very easy functions and intuitive. A bit bulky but for the price acceptable. Range between bikes around mountain roads not amazing and sharing music with partner using device via Bluetooth not good. Looks neat and excellent choices of assembly parts to personalise ones usage of them. Saying this we experienced torrential rain one day and device packed up completely. Sportsbikeshop were fantastic in that they received it back, checked it out and returned a brand new one to us. Perfect service!! Now proof needed as to whether product can live up to our winters!
Clear sound, easy to fit
The headsets were easy to install in to our helmets. Word of advice though is to check that your helmet has speaker holes in it. Connect to phone or Sat-Nav is easy and controls are straight forward. Sound quality is loud and clear, haven't tried at high speed yet though.
Super set at good price
I'm very pleased with this dual set. Much better sound quality than a cheapy I bought on eBay. FM is a waste of time, but I think that's true for most of these things. I can listen to music from my phone with good quality, albeit spoilt by wind noise at high speeds, and the intercom is terrific - I am teaching my wife to ride and it's absolutely superb as I follow her and give her instructions. The dual pair is good value from what I've seen of the prices of these and others. Perfectly satisfied.
As an intercom it's absolutely fantastic, easy connect, great sound quality and simple to turn on. For music it's great as well, easy to connect. Sound quality not perfect but good enough. Giving it 4 stars because the app is rubbish. So, so rubbish.
Fear not, these work great
It's a lot of money to spend when you're not sure how successful they'll be. However, nothing to fear, these are great. Installation looks daunting as there are so many parts supplied, but that's to cover all eventualities - Its actually very simple and you'll end up with loads of bits left over. Tested with Waze Sat Nav App on my phone and works well. Intercom is clear as a bell and phone interface work so well that the other person couldn't even tell I was on a blue tooth device (traveling through a 50mph zone). Sound quality is excellent with ear plugs. at 30 & 40mph you'll need to turn it down. At 60 & 70mph you can still hear the FM radio and intercom clearly, start to lose it about 80/85mph. Easy to operate, although I'm sticking to the simple stuff. Battery life gives me a week of commuting between charges (1 hr each way, 5 days / wk). Phone app for set up is handy too. No worries here!
Bought theses after much research and I'm not disappointed !! Excellent functionality, good size, good design and easy to use with gloves on. Battery life is exceptional and the Sena phone app makes control easy. Highly recommended.
Brilliant sound quality, good features if a bit expensive, and loads of accessories to set up how you like. My install into my Shoei Qwest is seamless, everything hidden away and secure, lovely. Build quality is excellent, and the unit is very easy to work with.
