Dainese Assen 1 Piece Leather
Previously tried the rst one piece which was to big in the lower body ,I'm 6'1", slim build. The rst evo 3 was way short in the arm and leg, tight across the shoulders and to short in the body . Thought I'd give the Dainese a try, doesn't have the neoprene cuff which instantly makes the arm feel longer, can't say that the legs are longer but the feel better than the rst suit did and they do stay tucked into my Dainese boots. There is less volume around the lower body, waist, bum and upper thigh. A little tight across the shoulders but better than the rst suit. Probably shouldn't mention this but once I had decided to keep the Assen I put it in the tumble dryer and warmed it up , then quickly put it on nice and warm, not hot, with a sweater and tracky bottoms on, pushed the knees down and sit down, grip the cuffs and do the hulk pose while the suit cools down. Now it fits really well, not tight in the shoulder, slightly longer in the arm and bearable around the plums when off the bike !
Good suit, but some design flaws
Really liked the look of this and wanted a centre-zip configuration having previously bought the Dainese 'double chest zip' style. Good quality hide with Dainese tanning process which makes it feel thinner and softer than more other suits, but a couple of key design flaws are spoiling this suit for me: First is the lack of double zips on the calf: a £700 suit with 'bargain basement' single zip, giving an inadequate fit and therefore bunching around the ankles under boots just isn't good enough. I can't believe they 'economised' on this! Secondly, the calf zips are in the wrong place! You need to be a contortionist to get to them - I've tried going around both sides, and using the opposite hand, but they're never easy to reach and you end up in some sort of ballet-style, toe-pointing maneuver to get the zips up and down. Otherwise, the fit is good - the stretch panels are particularly good and I've been able to lie-flat on the tank for the first time in years! And the lining, leather and general design is good. But the zips on the calves really annoy!
