Dainese Desert Poon D1 Gloves - Black / Red
Customer Product Reviews
Desert Poon D1 in black
These gloves are fantastic, the fit is comfortable with no seams or stitching digging into your palms like some other summer gloves. The fact that you can use your index finger on electronic devices was the main selling point for me and they work perfectly on my iphone. I like the fact that they have a short wrist cuff this is my preference for a summer glove. There's plenty of stretch in the material which make the fit feel perfect. Absolutely 5 Stars for quality, function and most of all price.
I am delighted with these gloves - I love everything about them! I was dreading replacing my Alpinestars SMX-3s but after putting a finger through them I realised I had to... As others have warned, you might find them sized a bit smaller than expected. I am usually a Large, so I got the Large ones. They are slightly tight around the knuckles when I'm putting them on, but perfect once they are on completely. I expect this to slacken off a bit in due course. The materials are up to Dainese's usual high standards and I think the design is beautiful - even better in the flesh than in the photos. What's not obvious from the photos are the small white reflective bars on the side of the pinkies, and on the wrists there's a cool Italian "flag" strip, which is a really nice touch. The "smart touch" pad on the index fingers work fine for unlocking your phone, perhaps, but you'll need to take the gloves off for any serious typing. The venting works well - lots of fresh air where you need it! One other thing mentioning is the delivery. I ordered mine at 16:17 on Friday, and selected next day delivery (up to Scotland!) I set my expectations to "I'll believe that when I see it", but sure enough, they turned up at 13:30 on the Saturday! So well done to Sportsbikeshop and DPD for that.
Great glove - but watch the sizing
Beautifully designed and made gloves, fabulous craftsmanship on display here. Soon as my wife tried mine on, she wanted a pair - hell, it's only money... Watch the sizing though - these come up pretty small, and the size chart on the listing is inaccurate - you'd do well to go for the size larger than stated.
Great lightweight glove for summer use
I bought these for summer use in town. They would also be fine for pottering out of town but for any spirited use, there are more appropriate gloves out there. The fit is excellent, as is feel on the controls. I also use them on my push-bike, where they give me confidence in the event of a fall.
