Customer Product Reviews
I bought these boots for my wife and she loves the quality feel and reassuring fit. I've had mine for five years and they have been faultless. Performed brilliantly in two solid days of torrential rain in Austria. No problems with plastic buckles. I'd buy another pair if needed.
Good value buy
Comfortable, good support without restricting movement. Shoe size 10 normally. Size 45 perfect and allows for a thicker sock. Leather and stitching good, Delivery prompt. Would have preferred metal buckle, however, at the price not a detracting feature.
Warm and dry even in the snow
These had their first outing today, a 2hr, 5am January ride with added snow and freezing mist for good measure. In combo with some knitted socks from gran, these performed perfectly. No cold toes and stayed nice and dry too. Odd buckles as others have pointed out but offer lots of adjustment and a good comfy fit. A bit stiff but lets hope they soften with some use.
Very comfy once worn in
These boots have kept my feet dry and warm over the past few weeks, which is quite a feat considering the recent weather. The first couple of days were slightly uncomfortable, but after getting some miles in them they have broken in nicely. I'm yet to be convinced on the longevity of the fiddly plastic clips, but hopefully they'll be as sturdy as the rest of the boot feels!
Very stiff, not unexpected, but comfortable and warm, as a bloodrunner, the top two requirements I look for in a boot. Would check the size, I have a pair of Italian boots size 45, fit like a glove, these are a tad bigger, thicker socks will fix that. Catches can break nails to start with, but will loosen with time, well worth the investment.
Boot testing to extremes
As a volunteer rider for North West blood bikes, much of my riding is at night and dictated by hospital requirements with no regard of weather conditions. 300 + miles riding a night in driving rain, not uncommon. Boots able to withstand this a couple of times a week can stand anything!
You won't be disappointed
Very good boots well made and comfortable but you do need a size bigger. I have a pair of Triumph leather jeans straight leg, you will find they will not go over the tops of these boots, disappointed over that. But apart from that, good boots all the same..
Only worn once so far but impressed at the moment with them. Go for the next size up if you want to wear thick socks. Only down side is the plastic buckles, should be made from something more substantial. Other than that not bad boots for your dosh.
I needed a more sturdy and waterproof pair of boots and these really are the business. They are tough, comfortable and weather proof (but not had them long) and they feel far more appropriate than my worn out old pair. Each year my plan is to ride more and these boots are going to make it possible. I'm very impressed with these boots, best I've ever had!
Storm trooper boots
I've bought these before and I love them. Strong waterproof, warm. And I put them through everything the elements throw at me. I only ride, can't stand being in boxes. So I expect a lot from my gear! They are not race boots, but once you've worn them in more than flexible enough for most style of riding. Well don TCX. As always Sportsbikeshop are the Dogs!!!
I bought these in the sale as a replacement for a well worn pair of Sidi Black Rain Evos. These are superior boots, warmer and more substantial. I found that the buckle straps are slightly on the short side, making them a bit fiddly to close, though this might improve with use. Overall I am very happy with my purchase.
This boot does everything claimed in TCX's advertising literature. I think some of the other reviews concerning the ratchet buckles are a bit picky as I have found they never need to be set absolutely perfectly every time you wear them. The materials and workmanship are of very high quality and I am overall very happy with my purchase.
