AGV Corsa-R Mono - Matt Black
Customer Product Reviews
I've had this for around 3 weeks now and used it everyday. Aesthetically: The hard & sharp angles, aggressive look and rear spoiler make this helmet really stand out. I've had people come up to me asking about it and where they can get it. IMO it is the best looking helmet out there, maybe behind the carbon PistaGpR... but how many of us mere mortals can afford that for everyday use. I love riding past shops and catching a glimpse of it. Useability; Although it's designed as a race helmet; it certainly can be used everyday, as I do. It is comfy and mainly, it's light. No neck ache or pains after a long ride from it. It is a little noisy at high speeds, but that's because it's a race helmet, so that's to be expected. It doesn't bother me, but if it did I'd just stick some re-useable plugs in. Another thing I've noticed is the visor is not staged opening, it's either fully closed, or fully open, there is no inbetween. I actually prefer this type of lock to a staged opening one now that I've had it for a few weeks. Hey, if it's good enough for Guy Martin & Rossi, I will not complain. You do get a feeling that these helmets are just inextricably linked to speed when you first unbox it, a thing of beauty. Durability: It's solid. What more can I say. The colour scheme is awesome, however with the matte you really need to focus on not knocking it or scratching it. It won't take much for a little blemish if you knock it on a garage door. I also love how easily the visors snap on and snap off. You can literally have that sucker off in seconds, with your full finger re-enforced Dainese gloves on. No fiddling for cleaning etc. There's also a huge line of after marker visors available for these lids to spice it up, which I will definitely be doing. It's on a double D ring locking mechanism, compared to the slip in/out mechanisms this feels solid, you know that when you loop it, pull tight and button the strap up it's going no where. When you get used to the DD ring it's actually incredibly simple, just takes a few practice goes to get it right when you first start doing it without a mirror. All in all, this is truly the best looking and useable helmet I've ever owned. I wouldn't touch anything other that AGV anyway, but now the Corsa-R has really upped my expectations. I honestly love putting it on every time I go out, it's just got that special feel about it.
Was looking at replacing my outgoing AGV Corsa as I've had it for 4 years, so decided on this Corsa R to replace it when the weather picks up. Needless to say I'm not let down at all as the service was excellent and the quality of products is awesome every time. Could not recommend more.
Another step forward in quality.
I gave now need buying AGV Rossi reps since his very first x vent. I'm always impressed with how the helmets improve through the years. This helmet is no exception, very well made, extremely comfortable and so light compares to previous models. Great helmet!
Best helmet I have ever seen
The first thing you will notice us the weight, it's incredibly light, in fact when you wear it you hardly notice it's there. It has a quality feel throughout, from the amazing field if vision to the feel of the fabric inside. You also get a Pinlock and tear-offs as standard. I love the graphics and Matt blue colour. It is quieter than my previous AGV but that might be due to be getting the right size.
Second time buyer
I had the original Guy Martin Corsa and it saved me when I landed on my head after a high side last fall. The AGV shape always fit me well, and it was an easy decision to get the Corsa R. I'm a fan of this design so glad to see is still offered. Super light, appropriately shaped for a human head, zero buffeting and that gorgeous viewport make it hard to look at any other brand. I did look at the Pista but small differences in weight and ventilation couldn't justify the 200+ higher price for this street rider. Noise? Aren't all helmets noisy? Wear ear plugs.
Spending so much on a helmet may seem madness to some but believe me after nearly 30 years of riding and using various brands and price ranges I honestly can't think of a better helmet I've owned. Comfortable from out of the box with a build quality that seems second to none and features like the visor locking mechanism put some other 'top' brands to shame. All in all I'd recommend it to anyone and will probably buy the same again come replacement time.
I purchased this helmet because it matches my 60th anniversary bike and for that reason alone it was worth the £699. This helmet is very light and snug fit with a medium/small size and I usually wear a 57-58. The venting system is excellent and the push button to just crack the helmet open, also adds to the system. The wide vision is also excellent, especially when overtaking or doing life savers. It does suffer from wind noise and the press stud on the chin strap can be fiddly, but overall this is a top class race/sportsbike helmet but no better in protection or sound than a helmet that costs half the price. If you want a Rossi rep, vey light, good all round vision and excellent aerodynamics plus you own a R1 60th anniversary, there's nothing more to say except don't forget the earplugs.
