AGV Compact-ST Seattle - Matt Blue / White / Red
Customer Product Reviews
Good entry level helmet
I'm using this helmet on a Yamaha FZ6. I'm 6.2. I can't use it without earplugs. It's loud. Overall it looks very good (my POV) and it fits well. At first was thinking about returning because of the fit , but it was just because it's new. Dark visor mechanism went tits up on mine ( difficulty dropping down), but i guess there's not much to expect on a full face flip up helmet for 170£ (how much i paid for it).
Nice product manufactured by AGV quality
I bought this helmet for my wife. She likes more interesting and individual things as my C3 Pro black mate. This helmet looks really nice and in comparison tests was reviewed significantly safer as other helmets, for example C3 PRO in spite that AGV is in different price category. I am taffrail about mentioned higher noisy, but I will see... Hopefully, It will be not problem.
Aggressive chin, snug fit
I've only ever worn longer term one other helmet (the free one that came with my Vespa) and my bike riding school's helmets so my range of comparison isn't too great. The helmet fits very snugly. Measured my head to get the right size. Was a good fit. The cheek pads rest firmly on the cheeks. There's a chin flap. Useful for someone who wears contacts so wind doesn't come in as much drying out the eyes.
Flashy crashy hatty
Very pleased with this lid. It's well constructed, a comfortable fit, nice soft lining, and well ventilated. It's easy to put on if you wear glasses like I do, you can open the front and put it on without having to remove your specs. Important to note, I also wear a thin balaclava. That helps too, but the flip front is a major plus. The graphics are nice and bright, (hence the flashy in the title) The pin lock visor (included, yaay) is interesting to fit. I am going to have to take it off and reposition it, the top edge of it intrudes in my line of vision, but it stops a lot of the fogging. Would have given 5 stars, except for the noise factor, as with all helmets it's important to wear ear plugs, as over 50 it gets a bit noisy. Was hoping it might have been quieter, but in any case it's a lot quieter than the shark d-skwal I was using before. And an infinitely better fit. All in all a good buy.
Great for the price
Very good quality and fit XL is comfortable. Hi vis and price wise can't complain good for work. Definitely not a touring helmet due to wind noise. I've had Shoei flip up for 15 years so high time for new helmet..... Wearing this AGV I can't even hear the exhaust at 60mph(Triumph Triple) Forget the motorway.......
So far so good
only started using this helmet recently. so far so good. have learned the hard way that agv helmets are good helmets and go for them ever since, the compact is heavier and noisier than the other agv models but still feel safe comfortable and do the job absolutely fine so far. For this price range really cannot go wrong! for me as a down trained instructor this is perfect for demonstrating and interacting with the students. would recommend for sure and as usual very happy with sportsbikeshop.
Comfy but Noisy!
My first AGV but not my first system lid (I usually go for a Shark helmet). This fits very well, the sizing is spot on (I take an M and this fits perfectly). I have a Sena intercomm and an Innovv C5 helmet cam, both of which fit on the helmet well, no buffeting or discomfort when riding. However, the noise is indescribable! much worse than my Shark Evoline 2 and my Shark RSJ (which is open face!). OK with ear plugs in so I can forgive it a bit. Glasses are a tight fit but will bed in I hope, difficult to drop the sun visor and open or close the flip front with one hand, so this activity has to be done when stopped. Although it has it's faults the helmet fits well and feels comfortable, well made and safe, so I'll keep on using it for touring.
Great helmet. The aerodynamics are far better than my last helmet notice a massive different from my first ride. Pinlock works great I only get misting on the wettest of days. The build is sun-visor is easy to operate when riding and make the commute to work so much safer. Great fit has a quality feel to the lining. Slightly noise at top speeds but expected from a flip up helmet
While it may not be the quietest helmet it's a very comfortable snug fit with good quality lining, flip up mechanism feels solid even when riding with it open. Good quality visor which comes with the bonus pinlock anti fog attachment which is a great bonus. Built in sun visor is very useful. I only gave 4 stars because the chin lock strap is a little too short not leaving more room for a perfect adjustment. Good value for money, feels good and looks good.
Nice lid but not perfect
Very comfy if a bit tight, but hopefully will settle in. Pretty quiet. The Pinlock works well, but bad condensation along the bottom of the visor. The nose-flap on the inner vents detaches too easily. Looks like will need to buy a new intercom as my Interphone doesn't sit well on the shape of the helmet.
Comfy and quality helmet
Superb quality and construction. Comfortable and handy as I wear glasses and much easier to manage than my previous full face helmet. Slightly noisy but its quality, convenience, and fit more than compensate for this. Excellent service from SBS as always.
I wouldn't bother with this helmet, I've only had it a few weeks and already regretting my decision. Just too damn noisy. Looks great, is comfortable but the noise even at low speeds. And as soon as get speed up, well I just hope you like really loud windy noises !!
