Falco Ranger Boots - Dark Brown
Customer Product Reviews
Great all rounders.
I bought these as the Italian style really appealed to me, I have ridden all types of bikes and I'm currently on an adventure bike, but I didn't want to limit myself to one style as I'll probably change my bike soon. These, in my opinion suit any bike. The Ranger is waterproof, armoured and comfortable on the bike and walking around town etc. I like the fact they're subtle and don't have big branding all over them, they look good off the bike, the only telltale sign it's a bike boot is some natural marking from the gear shifter which I wear with pride! The Vibram soles are good and don't slip slide all over like some rigid moulded bike boots I've had before. In fact they grip a lot better than my Pirelli's on tar banding and white lines!! Mine were comfortable from the off and I didn't feel that I was breaking them in despite the rigidity and armoured cups etc. They come with plain and jazzy laces and have a waterproof side zip so once you've tied them how you want you just zip them on and off. If you're worried about the laces getting caught up there's a pouch in the tongue to keep them safe. I've commuted in the rain and was kept warm and dry. I've walked around town in them in the sun and didn't get too hot. In summary I think these boots are all things to all people. Buy some!
A work shoe and bike boot in one
Protects those piggies and provides ankle coverage. Easy on the bike while being stealthy in the office. If you ride to work and dislike arriving like a stormtrooper. This kind of thing is for you. Waterproof protection, easy access side zips. Grippy soles. What's not to like.
Comfortable and well made
These seem to be great boots complete with armour in all the right places. Only gave them 4* not 5 due to the fact I currently wear a pair of Sketchers waterproof work boots I picked up in the states, where they are not up to the protection standard of the Falcos, boy are they comfortable.
Just what I wanted
First impression was of high quality materials and construction. After some use, comfort and good looks plus ease of getting on and off convince me that this was money well spent. I ordered my normal shoe size and it was spot on. Normally wary of remote purchase I'm well satisfied. Delivery was next day and bang on time.
Very comfy and sturdy boots which look great on and off the bike. Now wearing them day-to-day. Like another review, I found that they didn't need to be worn in. However, feel that £200 is a lot of money, would like to see these around the £150 mark. Other than that, I'm very satisfied.
Great boots, although a little stiff
Really great quality boots, it might require a break in as i find it a little stiff, also its a bit hard to shift with it as I don't feel the shift peg at all.. The quality of materials however seems 5 star without question, sure it will last long. Great protection also very comfortable sole. Haven't tried in rain yet but pretty sure it works as described. Again, great service from Sportsbikeshop as always.
Firstly, the size guide is wrong. It shows 44 as a U.K. 9.5 which I initially took to meaning that the boot is a little snug on the sizes so ordered a 45. I had to return and order the 44 and after a couple of weeks of riding I could probably have gone down to a 43. Anyway, sizing guide aside, these are a very well made boots. They look great and are very comfortable. They're rapidly turning into my favourite footwear, bike or no bike! The side entry zip is super handy for getting them on and off quickly. However, Falco do stick their CE label on the waterproof membrane and if you peel it off it also peels the colouring off the membrane with it. Falco could stick it on the sole. I've only done short 10 minute trips in heavy rain, but there's been no sign of water ingress so far! It's summertime right now, but they seem pretty warm and I can't see any winter issues especially if wearing decent socks. All in all, very happy with these!
