Spada Pilgrim Boots - Brown
Customer Product Reviews
Comfortable straight from the box, I wear them for a short commute and a have proved comfortable to wear all day at work (I'm on my feet all day too). Sturdy and so far been waterproof, though not sure if they would be on a longer trip but I have heavy duty bike boots for that. They look good too. Bargain
Bought these for my summer commute to work. When I first opened the box I was a little underwhelmed, but for the price decided they would do the job. My opinion has changed completely! They are really comfy on and off the bike and have been completely waterproof. I wouldn't want to tour or go for a serious ride in them as they lack a bit of protection and the soles are thin and ridged so some vibes get through. But for commuting, wearing all day and at the price they are spot on.
Smart looking pilgrim
Well made and smart looking. They are a little narrow but are wearing in nicely. If wearing all day your feet do get hot but this is probably down to the waterproofing..On the subject of waterproofing there is no gusset so if you did get caught out in the rain the water would get in straight past the laces. Ideal summer boot.
Cracking pair of boots. If you've only ever had footwear with rubber soles you will find these noisy, but if you've ever had some proper shoes you probably won't notice. These are smart, well made and really comfortable. Seriously considering buying the other colour as well
New Bike Boots????????
Always wanted a pair of these and when S B S had them at £40 off others usual price it was too good to miss. Great Boots, Excellent quality, and comfortable. At first I ordered a size 44 they were a little too big so sent back for a size 43; the return process was quick and easy S B S HAS brilliant after sales care.
Love these Boots
First off don't think these are boots for riding, yes maybe nipping down shops on a summers day Or s distinguished gentlemen's bike ride. But other than that great looking boot, go great with Jeans. I bought them cause I was looking for a more dress boot for going out and boy they look good with my Belstaff. I had then on 3 times and every time I've worn them somebody had commented on them and where did I get them.
A reasonably priced lightweight boot
After a couple of weeks wearing these boots I'm pleased with the way they fit and the level of comfort they offer. Given their lighter construction I bought them on sale as casual boots for around the office / home rather than riding the bike. At £60 including delivery I'm very happy with them. The good points: The price - £60 on sale. The sizing is spot on for my size 10 feet. The comfort has been good from the start with no real breaking in required thanks to the lighter gauge leather. The thinner leather is nevertheless good quality. Looks are subjective but I think these are good looking boots with some interesting touches and a pleasing absence of strident logos. It's early days for a reliable assessment but the construction looks tidy and solid in terms of the stitching. They grip well on the foot pegs with a pronounced heel to locate the boot securely when you stand up on the bike. The not so good points: The laces are of differing lengths with one lace extraordinarily long. The laces have no covering flap to prevent them floating around in the slipstream and tangling up with the bike. The wooden soles are clompy sounding if that bothers you. The leather could be thicker for better impact protection and the ankle area could do with padding, especially over the ankle bones. In summary if you are looking for top notch protection, waterproofness, useful features like a cover for the laces and a zip to use after the laces are tied or full shin coverage then you'll need to look elsewhere and pay a lot more too. These boots don't claim to cover any of those bases however and are priced accordingly. If you want very reasonably priced lightweight boots that are smart and comfortable enough for daily wear in a more relaxed office then pick a colour and enjoy!
Once I'd worn these for a few hours the uppers started to lose the initial stiffness across the gear shift reinforcement and they became a pleasure to wear - both riding on the daily commute and wearing around the office. Love the real wood sole construction, gives the boots the feel of a traditional handcrafted piece of English Footwear. Looks smart, feel comfy and ideal for commuting in and then wearing all day in the office. Some people may be put off by the loudness of having a wooden sole construction but I think it adds to the character of these boots. Only a 4 star rating at the moment as I haven't tried them in the wet yet!
