Alpinestars Andes V2 Drystar Textile Jacket - Black / Yellow
Customer Product Reviews
Good for the money
An affordable jacket that does as it says. I spent 3 hours riding in the rain with this jacket mostly on country roads so I would've been going at 60 on average. When I took the jacket off there was a small patch of water probably half the size of my palm on my jumper. Only complaint is it didn't come with a back protector but luckily I had a spare one laying round
Alpine Stars jacket, the sizes come up small but that is great for me so this jacket fits absolutely brilliant. It is very comfortable to wear and as far as I can work out there is no wind penetration giving it a warm jacket to wear, I haven't been in long lasting rain yet but what rain I have been in it seem waterproof, so i am sure it will hold back the rain on a heavy downpour. I am also very please with the colour scheme and the Honda logo. I do have one niggle with the jacket. Because it is unisex, the zip seems to be on the opposite side making it fiddly for me to attach zip. Over all I am ever so pleased with it.
Great allround jacket
Really like this jacket, the adjustability features allow a snug fit and keep the armour in place well. Ventilation options make it versatile for all seasons and love the large rear pouch/ pocket. Really pleased with this, has a quality feel about it.
BEST ALLROUNDER JACKET I EVER HAD
Great material usage, perfect fit even with the extra back and chest protectors inserted. Improved visibility is amazing. Could not test in rainy conditions yet, but I'm pretty sure it will serve me well even then. Air flows through perfectly with opened vents. The only downside is that the velcro placing should be reversed at the neck area since the male-velcro is destroying the helmet liner on the right side either way if your helmet liner is made out of soft material. Beside that I highly recommend this jacket for every rider.
Alpinestars Andes V2 A+
After having researcht for a good few months i decided on the V2. Im happy to say i made the right choice. The quality, the fit, the looks, the features and weight are all well balanced. At a reasonable price this jacket gives you piece of mind.
A definite must have.
Alpinestars are a well known name in the world of motorcycling and for good reason. Well made with internal protection though short on a back protector (available separately at about £30 or so) it will look after you in the event of a spill. Comfort is brilliant even if you are carrying a bit more weight around the middle. Many other companies have similar items but this is the best as far as I'm concerned. Ventilation is easy to use with gloves on and the double zip is a good option for those who don't want to fidget with zipping up the jacket when you need access to trouser pockets. Price for the item is not too high for what you get.
Bought this Jacket to replace my Andes 1 Jacket from Alpinestars which had been amazing and was waterproof. Had to go for a 3xl this time as Alpinestars seem to have changed their sizes again either that or all this iron I am lifting is finally working. I ride a 70 mile commute everyday all year round and I bought this to keep me warm and dry. Warm it does well but dry it does not. Rode for an hour last night in heavy rain and the jacket had leaked heavily at the front meaning that when I arrived home I looked like a geriatric that had failed to make it to the toilet on time. Not acceptable when although the jacket is listed as cheap at best part of 200 notes when something says it is waterproof I expect it to be exactly that. Not amused in the slightest also the cuffs are useless they do not go over your gloves you have to tuck them inside your gloves which means that your hands get wet as well. Will be returning this to SBS in favour of the RST equivalent I think seems this new and improved version is in fact worse and more expensive.... Save your money and keep browsing....
Torrential rain, Kept dry. Superb
First time wearing this jacket was to take my bike for Its service, Bought the trousers to match as well, the weather was torrential rain & wind. they performed Fantastic on a 28 mile round trip. I Didn't get wet, dry all over & felt warm, this jacket is One of the best i have had.
Great fit, comfy and versatile
This jacket fits like a glove, really bright without ruining the styling in my opinion. Lots of vents and removable liner mean it can be adjusted to suit varying conditions. Water tight so far.
Overall a good jacket, I opted for the light grey and black version. Pros- A stylish looking jacket. Plenty of adjustment to make it fit just right. Armour in shoulders and elbows seems fit for purpose. Nice and warm with liner in place. Several vent zips for airflow on hotter days. Good quality zips. Waterproofing has not failed me yet and have been in some heavy rain storms. Cons- Lots of velcro, cuffs, front zip flap, front pockets etc which is fine when your all done up and riding but gets annoying when off the bike and you have the jacket unzipped as everything just seems to get stuck to your wrist velcro. Front zip is a double zip (can be opened from top or bottom when done up) which makes it a little tricky to line the two up when you are doing it up with gloves on. Colour- just a personal choice here but the light grey I chose gets dirty really fast, although it is eye catching and good looking I wish now I had gone for the darker jacket. In summary, I'm happy with the jacket overall, advise going one size up as most others have stated, but be wary of your colour choice.
