DXR Howell Aramid Fibre Jeans - Black
Customer Product Reviews
Not used these specific jeans yet but I bought the DXR boost jeans in black and have been riding around Africa in them for the last three months. Held up fantastically, they fit with an actual skinny fit which is rare for motorbike jeans. Great service by SBS as usual
Soft stretchy jeans with a decent amount of protective lining (as much as some I have costing double). A modern skinny fit and on the small side - I had to go two sizes up from my usual - but very comfy and look good on and off the bike. Bad thing: Internal pockets for knee protectors are too low (probably due to the sizing up) and have to be shuffled up once sitting on the bike. A label on the jeans suggests they'll shrink in length once washed, which may remedy this. If not a stitch or two at the bottom of the pockets will raise the protectors up enough without affecting the exterior.
Suggested by SBS, fantastic stretch fit
These are skinny fit, soft and stretchy. So comfortable it's hard to believe they are bike jeans. They are small though (I'm a 32" in RST jeans but had to get 36" in these) I originally bought the RST Kevlar jeans but SBS recommended this make when I asked about a tighter fit around the ankle to avoid flapping. I couldn't be happier. I wear them with BMW armoured bike trainers so I don't tuck them into boots. They are light and cool. Without feeling un-protective. Perfect for summer. They come with knee pads that are pretty comfy and very inconspicuous. I took them out purely for air flow but I'd have no problem keeping them in. I'd give the jeans 4.5/5 but the fantastic service from SBS easily put the whole thing up to 5 stars for me.
They are very soft and comfortable. The material they are made is cotton based. It is not hard denim like original denim jeans Levis 501 or sth. They are slim fit but are elastic and are fitting very well. They come with protectors on the knees (they have internal pockets). The protectors are not very comfortable, but I'm going to remove them and get an external ones for the knees. They have some additional layer inside. It should be some aramid material. I really don't know what is the level of protection of this layer. I couldn't find any tests with these jeans as for example the jeans made by Tabacco. Generally I think they will be a good option for the hot days or for rides in the city.
