MT Thunder 3 SV Trace - Matt Black / Green
Customer Product Reviews
Smart looking helmet at a good price
A good quality helmet that sets the standard in a budget price range. Its well made and fits very comfortably with good vision. The sun visor also works well being easy to flip up or down when needed. Has good ventilation so no or very little steaming up at traffic lights on damp mornings.
Comfy well priced first lid!
For my first lid i could not be happier! fairly light, comfy padding, internal sun visor, good sharp rating, 3 vent points, feels good quality, great price, all round brill first lid! My only complaint is the size of the leaver for the sun visor while wearing gloves but as soon as I got used to it it did not bother me in the slightest!
Good quality, good fit,
Good quality helmet, fitted well, comfortable, really good budget option. Would definitely buy another, only downside is the clip that flips down internal sun visor can be a bit tricky to find while riding, but I will get used to it.
Great commuting lid
Bought this in hi-vis for commuting The size is spot on, the style is smart and you can see it for miles. There is some noise at higher speeds but no more than most helmets in this range so put plugs in if that bothers you. Needs the pin lock insert (£20) or it will fog up, however design gives great peripheral vision. The internal sun visor does its job. No bother with the lever as some others have stated. For the price it's a great buy.
Value for Money
Second one for me (well my pillion). Good level of features and sharp safety rating for a relatively low price. I like the venting adjustments and the integral sun visor. Is probably noisier than a premium helmet and will need changing earlier being polycarbonate but will give a good base comparison when trading up
Not much visor/mouth airflow
Helmet seems good quality in places, good padding e.t.c. but the lever to drop the visor feels cheap and flimsy. You also NEED to put a pinlock insert with this helmet as there is a la k of airflow around the mouth and the helmet steams up very quickly and you can't crack the visor open a bit as it has 3 settings (1/2, 3/4, and fully open). With a pinlock insert the product is quite good but not without.
Quality of the product is 10 out of 10 , exactly as it describe and in the picture. Sizing was correct as the description. The item is very comfy to wear. Excellent choice will reorder. Excellent service from buying to delivery.
As the title suggests this is a very good helmet for the price. It's comfy, good build quality, sun is effective as are the vents and and the strap is easy to adjust. The downsides are there is a roar at higher speeds, even with pinlock fitted there is a small amount of misting because the breath deflector is too short the latch to raise and lower the sun visor isn't the easiest to use with gloves on. But overall I wear it every day without any real difficulties and its solid value for the money.
Brilliant helmet for a brilliant price
Very please with this helmet, before this I had a HJC CS 15 which is only about £10 cheaper, but the differences are plain to see and feel, the MT just feels better made, its more comfortable, blocks out more wind and road noise, the movement of the visor is smoother and less clunky, it comes with a built in retractable sun visor, looks more sporty and all this better stuff for just £10 extra. Best helmet I have found for the price by far. Also has a very good Sharp rating.
Thundering good for little money
I bought this helmet then changed it for a Large size, the service was first class. I was kept informed at. Every stage of my purchase, and delivered at exactly the time I was given. I will recommend to friends and colleagues. I have worn the helmet 5 times now the performance and quality for a budget helmet in my opinion will take some beating. I have previously owned a Shoei, the Thunder 3 Trace competes in every aspect.
Has a quality feel to it, but is a little noisy with wind buffeting. A good snug fit - i like the cut outs in the internal padding that makes putting on and removing my glasses easy. Ratchet buckle fastening to the chin strap is easy to use. The clear visor action was incredibly stiff to start with - the first time that I have had to " run-in" a new helmet! After about 20 rides it has got a bit better. I bought a Pinlock visor insert as an add on and it is very good.
Decided to buy a new crash helmet by MT as I have had one before which was very good. I only have a scooter for commuting so this is ideal for the money especially with the Pinlock and built in Sun Visor. It feels comfortable to wear and does the job for me.
