Dainese R TRQ Tour Gore-Tex Boots - Black
Customer Product Reviews
A good quality boot very comfortable the adjustment on the back makes for a good fit. I exchanged my first boots for the next size up as has been mentioned on some of the reviews, for me they were a bit snug around the toes but the next size up were perfect. Certainly recommend.
A quality boot
A good quality boot that is comfortable and waterproof, offering good protection. Easy on and off with the zip at the back and no messing around peeling velcro once you've set it for your calf size. Recommended. A nice boot from a great brand.
Fitted from the start!
Been looking for a while for a style not too racy or clunky. These certainly fit the bill. Read reviews and ordered one size up, good call. Quality excellent, adjustment at the back around the zip is a nice touch. Really like these. The pivot mechanism means the tops don't dig into your shin and make walking much easier. Sportsbikeshop price matched them without question (thanks guys), all in all a great boot.
Comfortable from the outset
As many here have already stated, I ordered the next size up to ensure correct fit. Glad I did as these boots fit well, are light and comfortable. Well made and obviously a high quality, well made product, so far I am very pleased with my purchase. Not used in the rain yet but see no reason why they wouldn't perform well. It is worth noting that these were a replacement for a different set poorly selected by me. Thanks to the excellent service and returns policy, I was able to exchange my initial purchase for these. Thank you.
Second pair I've purchased, this time for my wife. As expected I had to go a size up but no issue there really. Very easy to ensure a perfect fit given the options around the calf area and ease of zipping up at the back. Good in the wet and consistent grip both on and off the bike. They are designed more for under the trouser so I wouldn't consider these if you're looking at wearing over leathers but apart from that a quality product from Dianese. Always go up a size! I will also add that Sportsbikeshop were again excellent with their customer service having originally purchased the RST tractech evos and finding they were too tight on the calf area. Excellent service from both sales, returns and anything customer related. This is precisely the reason I've spent a few thousand over the last 3 years and will continue to do so. Keep it up you're a credit to online retailers. Pete
Sizing for me is not so good, 1st pair sent back as too tight, those were a 39, and the 40 was dispatched same day, brilliant customer service. The 40 is verging on just too big, however a couple of pairs of socks have sorted that excepting one boot slipping on the heel. Overall quality is very good although I've only worn them twice and there is already mark into the toe area of the boot lifting the surface, suspect a stone hit. So it questions longevity of the product. I hope they don't slacken off too much as this would make them too big. Great service from SBS
Very good boots
These boots have been very good from the off. They keep my feet warm and they seem to have plenty of protection. Still breaking in and getting used to them on the bike, I would not recommend wearing them as walking boots, however at say a bike race. First time I have used Sportsbikeshop and very pleased with the service.
Well thought out strongly constructed boot with extra protection around ankles and heels. Totally waterproof and excelled on both 30c and cooler climes. As usual, first class service from the team whom rushed my boots to me I time for m latest euro tour.
Out of all the different boots I tried, Sidi couriers, Richter rain and a few others these actually fit first time. The boot is sturdy and the pivot point helps with movement. They broke in really quick and look like something Ironman would fight the baddies in! I went for a size up from normal mainly for thicker winter sock use but still found them quite snug without. The back zip is a bit of a faff, especially with my leathers on but once done up and on they feel good. No heavy shower use yet so yet to test water proofing. As always the service from SBD is excellent.
Good boot for the money
Pleased with these boots so far. They are snug in the toe area but for me if you don't wear thick socks they're fine, I'm normally a 41 but got the 42 which was the smallest on offer at the time. Haven't tried in the wet yet but I'm hopeful they're be fine. Dainese make quality gear just get the right size. Lightweight and easy to walk in, fairly comfy but Not like slippers.
Hinged boot great for weak ankles
I have weak ankles (from years playing squash) and after much research and watching many You Tube video reviews, I plumped for these boots. Dainese have made a great boot here. I love the ease at which I can change gear (thanks to the hinged ankle joint). I ride a Ducati Monster which have quite a back set of pedals - these boots have served me well. I've been on long trips, dry and in the wet - feet felt as good getting off my bike as when I got on it. Size wise, I'm usually between an 8 or a 9 in my shoes, so I went for a 43 boot. Fits perfect. There's also little velcro size adjusters on the back for adjusting to the size of your calfs, nice touch. Quality made and Sportsbikeshop was the best price out there for these boots. 10/10 for boot and shop. Get a pair before Dainese decide to tweak!! There's no need, these are great.
A great all rounder
The thing with a touring boot is that you need to be able to spend a good few hours walking around in them. These are superbly comfortable in that department whilst being a bit more technical and a bit firmer than your average straight leather tourer. The adjustments and especially the single rear zip is a much cleverer idea than you would initially think. As for the folk at Sportsbikeshop: if I didn't live in Australia I would invite them all to my next birthday party they're so good to deal with. Simply brilliant assistance over the airwaves.
First pair of boots for me and I couldn't imagine a better product. Spent 2 days riding in central London with 32c weather and was the only piece of gear to stay dry, it's also waterproof. Sizing for me isn't great as a size 10 was OK but the heel kept sliding up (as it doesn't have a slight recess) and the size 9 touches my toes, bet on the 9 hoping for some break in but it didn't happen, so far.
