Richa Monza Waterproof Boots - Black
Customer Product Reviews
Good value boots
I ride pretty much year round, so I needed a boot that was both waterproof and a good fit. I'm not into expensive ones, it's more practical for me. First off, the boots are a firm fit and do take some breaking in. Once they've broken in, they are a really good boot. Feel is great when changing gear or braking. They stood up to a torrential downpour with no leaks and were warm. They are a little bit shorter than my last pair, but as they go under my textiles it's only an issue if the zip opens. The zip is very stiff and is taking time to get easier. Hopefully it will ease. For the price, they are a good boot and will do the job. As usual Sportsbikeshop excellent service.. ordered one day delivered next..
Good value for money!
The Richa brand speaks for itself. Excellent packaging of these boots. Got them as an emergency pair, especially during rainy season. Love the craftsmanship and the simplicity that characterises the pair. Highly recommend. 7/10
A Little Odd At First
Having not worn this type of boot before it took some getting used to, i found there to be a lack of feel when shifting gears but they need to be broken in i guess, waterproofing works a treat and for the price they are suprisingly good quality, i did find they tended to slip off the pegs or rear break when wet but give it a week or two and i am sure they will turn out to be worth it.
I would like to give this product a 5* these boots are waterproof. I would highly recommend you to go for 1 to 2 sizes up than your normal shoes. Also it takes like a day or two to get use to them if you have not worn these types of boots before.
Value For Money TIGHT Boot
These VFM boots arrived on time and looked the biz. Had an issue from the start with getting the blooming boots on ! There was no give in them and it took over 15 mins to finally get them on leaving this old boy hot and bothered. Still persistence paid off and after 3 rides outs they are stating to become more supple
Decent Boot, but...
I read these reviews carefully as my main criteria was that I didn't arrive at work with wet feet! unfortunately, after yesterdays commute (heavy rain) my socks were wet... not soaking as with my previous boots but wet nonetheless!! So, in my opinion, these are NOT waterproof. I'm looking at one review now that says 'fully waterproof' so they are either telling porky's, not been out in 'proper' rain or I got a duff pair! On the plus side, they are very comfortable (I bought a size above my normal) and very warm.
I very rarely engage in reviews, but I confess to have carried a few in the past for a professional review body (secret shopper). This review is written entirely under my own steam. I wanted to buy a pair of boots that I could use on a general basis and I was fascinated by the idea of a pair of boots that were, effectively, as cheap as chips. I would not risk buying these boots from any other outlet other than Sportsbikeshop because I was safe in the knowledge that the product would meet the standards expected, and if I did not like the thing for any reason I could send it back. I read a number of boot reviews and many seem to indicate that with many boots you need to size-up to be sure of a good fit. I am a size 46 but I was worried that the 47 would look too big on feet that are already big! For this reason I ordered a pair in each size. The boots arrived and I checked them over. The leather was thick but supple with good ankle, toe, and shin protection. The only area of light concern was that some of the stitching along the seams was borderline but I think this was more about appearance as they looked sturdy. I tried each pair and noticed that the 46 fitted perfectly but were tight around the ankle. I then tried the 47s, they went on easier but were clearly bigger in the toe area. I eventually opted for the 46s. I started to wear them round the house, much to the merriment of my wife. They were very comfortable, rather like carpet slippers. The next day I went out on the Tiger Ex to try them out. They are little lower than the regular boot s but to be fair they are sold as a shorter boot. I find the gear lever on the Tiger to be a very good test of the toe shift area on a boot. These passed the test well. The only area that might cause a rider concern is in wet weather, where your waterproofs may ride up and the rain and spray come in over the top. I have not tested this so I can't really comment on this point. I noticed that the sole is very grippy, unlike a lot of very hard soled boots that can be treacherous when you put your feet down in the rain at the lights. Talking of rain, I have not been out on the bike with them in wet conditions, so I cannot comment of the waterproof element. To be fair I bought them for dry riding and use my Alpinestars for rainy days. Overall I have covered about 300 miles in these boots and I have found them to be very good for most situations. Would I buy them again knowing what I know now?... I certainly would, a great value item.
First time boot!
New to biking so have been researching boots / kit for some time this may be of help for anyone in similar position! Usually a uk 8.5 bought a 9 plenty of room for thicker socks, touch large with thin socks but not uncomfortable. Have broadish feet but fit fine. Perhaps a bit tight getting off but apparently same for may new boot. Plenty of room at the top, light to wear, waterproof so far. Generally happy with 1st bike boot, look perfectly fine (prefer subtle myself) fit under trousers fine. Could of gotten away with the 8 but happy to have thicker sock option.
I bought these going on other people's reviews, and I haven't been disappointed. Well made and very comfortable once worn in. Kept my feet dry in recent rain, but not tested in a real bad downpour. Slightly shorter in length than my old boots, which I actually prefer. Go larger size if wearing thick socks. Might not be ideal for people with thick calves though.
Have worn them several times now and have found them to be more than comfortable and easy enough to slip on. I got size bigger than my normal shoe size. Have not been out in heavy rain yet but appear to be shower proof. Great value boots for touring.
