Dexter Izoard Track - Grey / White / Red
Customer Product Reviews
Great value helmet
So I needed to replace the visor on an old caberg helmet, to upgrade to a pin lock visor would be £60. So I thought I would see what helmet I could get for that sort of money. My criteria was pin lock visor and insert plus integrated sun visor. First of all I wasn't sure about the brand, not having heard of it before. But this really is a top quality built helmet. I've been using it commuting for 2 weeks now without any immediate issues. My head measures 56cm so I bought a medium. It was a snug fit, not tight, to start with but is now very comfortable. Pin lock system works brilliantly. Visor comes off quite easily to fit it. The sun visor is operated with a switch on the left bottom side of the helmet. This can be a bit fiddly with the gloves on but does work fine. The actual sun visor isn't massively tinted, it is enough but on a bright day I would properly wear sunglasses as well. Multiple vents provide brilliant ventilation. The build quality, padding and stitching looks and feels like it's from a much more expensive helmet. Reflective stickers are provided with helmet to add on. As per usual sportsbikeshop delivered and packaged to a very high standard. Overall, well worth the money.
Best budget helmet
You really can't go wrong with this helmet if you are on a budget. I decided to buy this one after reading not only the reviews here but also the review in MSN. The only thing I could find that was slightly negative was in relation to the wind noise at speed. Its true there is some noise at speed which I'm sure a more expensive helmet would have less of but its really not an issue for me as on any long run or motorway ridding I would use ear plugs. I ordered a medium and it fits well. The helmet is well made and both visors are easily used with gloves on, as is the chin strap. I can't offer any review of the pinlock as I haven't used it. Would I buy another? Yes definitely it really is in my opinion the best budget helmet and for the price you really can't go wrong.
A very good budget helmet
I wanted a Matt black helmet to suit my newly ordered bike. This looked great and with decent features too. An internal drop down visor and a Pinlock visor (with pin insert included). A MCN review on the other Izoard helmet also helped persuade me to buy this one. I already own a Shoei GT Air Expanse and Shark Race R Carbon Kolov so had a good comparison between them. In terms of weight the Medium Izoard is 1500g. Not bad. The fit and comfort is nice and soft. It doesn't feel as tight initially compared to the Shoei or Shark but the adjustable chin strap (ratchet mechanism) is comfortable and easy to use which helped to make the helmet fit more snug. The ventilation is good. The drop down visor works well and is easy to operate with a glove on. The noise level is on par with my Shark and if you are going to be doing motorway speeds for fair amount of time, I'd recommend using ear plugs. For £69.99 you simply can't go wrong. The helmet looks good, fits and performs far above it's value. The only odd thing I can't honestly think of with this helmet is that The visor pins show in my peripheral vision and that the Pinlock visor is a tad smaller than the one on my Shoei helmet. However, the view is not obstructed in any way and clarity is assured at all times. A great helmet at a superb value price.
