Sena 30K Bluetooth Headset & Intercom - Single
Customer Product Reviews
Bought this for touring so I can play music, take phone calls and talk to my mates. Quite a fiddle attaching it to your helmet (AGV K3 SV) but it's worth the time to get it perfectly comfortable. I tried using the flat stick on mic but unfortunately the mic just wouldn't pick up my voice. Swapped it out for the boom mic which I'm having problems with the "Hey Sena" commands whilst riding and my bike isn't particularly loud (Tracer 900 GT - Stock Exhaust) but "hey google" through my phone picks up easier. I'm going go play with the settings and try and get it perfect as I've only had one ride so too early to tell. All in all it's okay but so far for the price tag i'm regretting my purchase.
Sena 30K Single pack.
Took a while to set us as required a software update via laptop before they would connect to the phone app. After initial set up they were easy to use with good volume and clarity. Slightly larger than cheaper brands but good secure fitting to the helmets and neat design. Great if you need multiple open mic connections. The extra in price shows in the quality.
Modern Intercom must have Kit
Found this kit easy to use once you learned the basic button function, great reception on the radio channels and also on phone conversation. Pity about the 30K not connecting directly with the older model 20s which my buddy uses, disappointed by this hopefully sena guys will fix this bug. Mesh system works well but all bikers in the group have to have the 30K model. Will do me for years to come.
Great bit of kit
I've upgraded to a pair of 30k's from the Evo 20S mainly for the mesh capability. Really good quality and simple to use. SportBike Shop need to fetch in the docking stations as Sena UK dont do them. I got one from Germany and combined with the 30K, it's a real winner
For me as a first time user of sena or as it matters any intercome I found it quite complex to navigate due to memorising different button combinations. However once I figured it out I was impressed with the quality. Highly recommended product
Keep informed 30K
I recently purchased the 30K and the RC4 remote control. Both are now fitted and connected to my iPhone, Garmin 595LM. You can play music and the sat-nav cuts in to give you directions, I fitted the headphone easily into my flip front Bell helmet. Overall I find this an excellent bit of kit and well worth the money. Additional information can always be found on U-Tube.
Bought to replace my SMH5 Chunky unit to say the least, but easy to fit, which was good. Speakers don't seem as loud, despite being premium, but that could just be them not being positioned correctly, or not run in fully. Battery life appears to be on a par with the SMH 5, but with earplugs in you need to wind the volume up, which halves the battery life More features you can shake a stick at, so I'm still working out what's what
Love it so far
Picked this up with a little help from Christmas Sportsbikeshop vouchers from my Mum. Been out for a couple of rides already and its been fantastic with mobile connection and music. Even went out on a ride out with 90(ish) other bikers last weekend. I think there were a few too many of us with 30ks to allow the mesh to work properly (too many people wanted to talk at the same time) but on the way to and from the ride, with fewer numbers it was perfect. I need to learn all the commands as there are a lot, but I love it so far.
I wasn't disappointed
This is the first time I have used the Sena brand but after reading a lot of reviews decided to try the 30K and I wasn't disappointed as after a charge and easy install it paired with my phone and Sat-Nav without a problem. I've not tried the intercom yet but don't expect any problems. Quality looks very good with everything having nice fittings and really good feel to it and as usual Sportsbikeshop delivered on price and service.
Sound quality is good
Overall I'm pretty pleased. Streaming music from my phone, and taking and receiving calls all works well. Voice Control and Siri ( iphone) all work OK too. Sound quality is good, even in the motorway. Not tried the intercom, or Mesh intercom yet. Only gripe is the FM Radio reception, which seems very sketchy. I'll need to re-read the manual to see if I can get it to tune better.
