Caberg Duke II Legend - Black / White
Customer Product Reviews
Comfortable helmet with excellent aerodynamics, especially at motorway speeds. Try it on for size beforehand if you can. It feels a little big with the face open and moves around a bit, but feels comfortable as a normal full face lid. I'm either a Medium or Large (depending on brand), this is a Medium and feels a little loose at times. The only real downside for me is the open face release button isn't wonderful and a bit too stiff, especially with gloves on.
I was not sure if the pinlock insert was included as the description was not clear. After phoning Sportbikeshop they said they would check and get back to me on the Monday which they did Thanks but I missed out on the 10% off over which ran out on the Sunday. 4 th Caberg I have had 2 nd Duke very pleased fits well,my non Caberg intercom fits well. Fast well informed delivery by Sportbikeshop.
Nice helmet, fair price
Good fit and feels to be well made (I returned a shark as it did not fit right and not sure I wanted to risk my head it in) feels like a quality item. I was a little concerned after reading that the visor did not retract fulling into the helmet, but not an issue. Down sides, a bit noisy and the flip up locking button is not that easy to use when riding with gloves on . But happy with the helmet and the service from sport bikes shop.
Superb Helmet... Excellent Value for Money
Needed to replace two Shoei helmets, one flip-front Multitech and one non-flip full face. Both are mint and well looked after, but getting on a bit. Having researched many articles stating the need to replace helmets at around 5-years of ownership, I needed a change. I wanted another modular helmet, but could not afford the Shoei Neotech. Not a being a fan of non-fibreglass helmets, I bought the Duke having read many great reviews and also because of the very high Sharp safety rating. Early days, but for around £130 this is a superb helmet. Well built, a smart/aggressive look and, as a glasses wearer, the internal sun visor is a revelation. Very pleased with the purchase.
Brilliant helmet in a very visible colour
I'm very impressed with the duke 2 helmet. It's a couple of generations newer than my old konda kid and a big improvement. It's lighter, quieter and more comfortable. The bright red colour stands out too without being a fluorescent bug magnet. I'm very impressed.
Very pleased with the Duke 2. Much lighter than my AGV. Beautifully made and looks the business. If it wasn't for the high pitched 'winey noise' when I turn my head at speed (probably coming from the sun-visor slider), I would've given it a 5. Great sale price, and superb service as always from SBS. Highly recommended.
Caberg Duke 2 good choice on a budget
Its lightweight (certainly compared to the HJC its replacing), quieter too! Ratchet strap lock is great once you've taught your fingers to do it. On the downside the internal sun visor does not retract into the helmet fully and is left intruding into your field of view. Noted by a previous reviewer I wish I had paid a little more attention. This will prevent me purchasing another unless it gets rectified by the manufacturer. The chin bar lock is fiddly, but i can live with it as I don't really intend to ride with it up. Haven't used the pinlock visor yet, but by providing one in the box it does mean you're ready to go!
I bought the helmet a week or so ago I have worn it most days for over 4 hours a day and it's very light and comfortable. The weather has been atrocious with heavy rain and with the fog screen fitted to the visor there wasn't any fogging at all. I was a bit dubious as a previous reviewer had mentioned it leaked a bit.... after a week of torrential downpours I'm happy to say it didn't leak one bit.
The best value for money by far
I have ridden bikes most of my life (half a century) and therefore owned many helmets. The fit, light weight and finish of the Caberg Duke ll excels beyond even the most expensive helmet I have owned. This is the fifth Caberg I have owned and I can't see me changing makes anytime soon. Thank you SBS.
Looks good but budget quality
This helmet certainly looks good and has some great features. Accepting that it is a budget helmet, I decided I would stretch my finances for a better build quality that inspires more confidence. The helmet certainly has good test ratings for safety but I fear some the mechanisms may not stand the test of time with regular use. A pity
My instructor during my bike test had this helmet, he spoke highly of it, however mostly for its blinding appearance! So I bought one and it is superb...... Great design, great features, comfortable and a fantastic colour. I get alot of stares from pedestrians and gladly most people can see me coming!
...and that is not just the colour. Very comfortable. My head is exactly between M and L so I was advised to go for L which is just about right. Good visibility especially with Pinlock which really works but it is noisier than a one-piece so I wear earplugs. My glasses still steam up at very low speeds but clear as soon as I am moving and opening the visor a little solves the problem. Service from sportsbikeshop exemplary.
After buying the Caberg, I realised how much of an improvement it was over my old lid. It was a much better fit (size was good to tape measure) and therefore much quieter. The pinlock insert addition was much appreciated after I had to pay extra for that on my old helmet. The Caberg has all the features that I need in a modular helmet.
