Caberg Duke II Legend - Red / White
Customer Product Reviews
A tad noisy but good otherwise
Get a fair bit of wind noise to the level of it all but drowning out the engine/exhaust (these aren't loud anyway mind) plus over 60mph if I look to the right, a whistle starts up by my left ear. Fit is good, it came with a pinlock insert, it looks really good to my eyes, has good visibility and the wind curtain has been invaluable of late.
A good quality helmet that fits really well. Also, as others have said it's so very quiet with minimal wind noise. There is good all round vision and the Pinlock system really helps with cold weather visibility. I took me a while to get used to the opening method for the flip up but that's only because the release button is in a different place to my last one. I can most certainly recommend this helmet
My second Caberg Duke hat
Very good helmet at an excellent price. Has a 5 star safety rating on SHARP. I bought white after attending a "Biker Down" course and being told by the Fire Service that white is the safest colour for visibilty. Practical for all weathers with a pinlock insert for cold & wet weather, it can be used open with the dark internal visor down when it gets really hot. Very convenient at fuel stops and peages etc as the flip up front means you don't need to take off the helmet. I have fitted an Interphone Sport comms unit to it, a tight fit but it works well.
Not so good for the big chinned gentleman
Seemed like a well made helmet with all the features and felt very sturdy light and easy to use but the fit was just so wrong for me the chin bar came down and I had to squash my head in to get it to lock shut. So a bit of a shame as it seems like a good lid but far to narrow for me and I didn't like my chin touching the front of the helmet great service as usual from sportsbike
Had the previous incarnation so no surprises with this lid. Everything a little better. Well made, feels a quality helmet in all respects. Superb service as always and price match applied straight away. Didn't give it 5 as it's not in the same league as a £600+ Arai or similar but for the price it is as good as it gets.
Five star Sharp rating
Happy with this purchase. Spent a considerable period of time considering various helmets. Colour, spec, flip lid etc. And of course price. I went for a white lid with flip - The flip is stiff as you'd expect with a new helmet. The clasp around the chin is adjustable with quick release. There's a double visor which are easily re-positioned. The interior lining is removable and comfortable. The overall product quality is good in my opinion for the money spent. I've yet to trial on bike so unsure on noise level. The helmet is light and comfortable looking forwards to trialing on bike.
Delighted with both this helmet and the service from SPORTSBIKESHOP. The helmet looks great and sits perfect. My head measured 59cm and the large size is ideal. The flip up front works well and locks in place to meet EC regs. The vents are easy to open and close, even with gloved hands. I have tried several helmets whose sun visor came down too far onto my nose, the Caberg sun visor is just right. Comes with a Pinlock but I haven't fitted this yet. Fantastic helmet for the price. Great service, as usual, from SPORTSBIKESHOP.
Considering the budget price of this helmet, I have been surprised how good it is. Its light (for a flip front), compact, reasonably quiet, very comfortable, and seems well made. Slight gripe, is the chin bar is a bit stiff to click into the fully open position, but this should loosen up a bit with use. Looking for a budget "flip front" ? give this one a try, I doubt if you'll be disappointed.
A good all round helmet a bit tighter than I'm used to but not uncomfortable. The only issue is the chin bar sits against the chin needs getting used to, the sun visor slide is located high in the centre of the helmet and again needs getting used to, otherwise a big thumbs up from me.
Very quiet comfortable helmet
I bought this helmet to replace a similar Caberg that was 10 years plus old. In many ways it is an excellent replacement and is much lighter than it's predecessor and also far less noisy, in fact air noise has been reduced to a whisper which is most impressive. As on my old helmet, I find the flip down internal darkened visor really useful and it is in constant use this time of year. Also new is the attachment for the main visor to prevent steaming up which works really well. So why not 5 stars - well, 1. the size is a tighter fit than my old helmet of the same size - it's liveable with and maybe it will become a little roomier with use but I feel as though my face is being clasped, 2. the chin strap is quite tight and a fraction too far back so it feels as if it's touching your Adam's apple, 3. the internal dark visor doesn't retract fully and doesn't drop down fully, however, it's still a good bit of kit, 4. the top vents seem to make little difference and the apparent vents on the face don't seem to do anything at all, 5. raising and lowering the internal visor is harder to do with the lever on top of the helmet rather than on the side as with the previous model. However, these are fairly minor quibbles - if I needed to buy another one I'd get the same again.
