Shoei NXR - Recounter TC5
Customer Product Reviews
It's my very first Helmet and I was advised by experienced riders to go with a Shoei. I was not disappointed as it fits perfectly, very secure and has very good ventilation. Its very practical as the lining can be fully removed for cleaning. In addition I just love the look of this helmet - I'm very happy with my purchase
First full face but not the last
This is my first full face, I have had flip front in the past. Good: Very light. Great visibility. Pin Lock. Its a Shoei. Bad: Bit tight to get on and off but nice fit when its on (I do have biggish ears so that does not help) Do not like that the chin part does not travel lower (this is hangover from flip front I guess Other than that, all good, very happy with purchase.
I have a 56 size head and the small fits great but the cheek pads are very tight. I thought they would break in but haven't. After a bit of research it seems I'm not the only one. The helmet runs very tight along the jaw and comes with 35mm cheek pads. Good thing is you can get 31mm cheek pads bad thing is they are £58.99. I ordered them along with a Shoei Mcguiness beenie. Sportbikeshop have sent this out royal mail second class and at this moment 5 days later still haven't received them so not very happy.
Good helmet, would be great with extra venting
My first Shoei, coming from Arai and I would say build quality is equal. Pros: More comfortable than GT Air if you wear glasses. Smaller than the GT Air (in overall size, fit I found very similar). Removable chin curtain. Cons: Poor venting. The vent straight through the chin bar on Arai's is great, and something I will miss with this helmet. I find the top vents fairly ineffective too. I've fitted a Sena 3S, shame there isn't a 10U. The 3S works, but is a little quiet and doesn't have all the features of the 10U. Tried to fit my Arai 10U, but doesn't really work. Why the NXR over the GT Air? Less bulky, and I didn't want the drop down visor. Why the NXR over another Arai? Just seems to fit my head better.
Great helmet, great price
I have worn AGV helmets for the last 20 years but really liked the look of this helmet. I tried this on in a bike shop but they wanted£509, I got home looked online and found this one at a bargain price! Really comfortable, light, well vented, view is excellent. Came with a Pinlock, helmet is a good fit, very well made inside. I'm really happy with it, quality helmet! Great to purchase off a company that offers no hassle free returns, would highly recommend.
Typical Shoei high quality
My 5th Shoei helmet and as usual no complaints with fit form or function, good quality helmet, low noise. Slight mark on the top of the helmet as if it was a display model but seeing as it was reduced considerably then I'm not to concerned about this.
Beats helmets twice the price
Lightest and probably the best lid I own. I have the original Shoei X-Spirit, X-Spirit 2, Arai RX-7V and RX-7 GP and yet this seems so much better. Good visibility, no fatigue because of the weight, fairly quiet, but I wear ear plugs anyway and great quality. What's not to like.
Super light, reasonably quiet and wonderfully comfortable! Have a second kid with drop down visor for touring but this is my preferred choice for commute and weekend blast! A bit warm in this hot weather, but does not distract me from riding. Highly recommended
